wow... I've seen a lot of big wave videos and I that is probably the easiest breaking 20+ foot wave I've ever seen. I honestly thing I could surf that without a lot of trouble... not that I would, just saying. You were being sarcastic with your thread title but that honestly does look like a nice easy breaking, playful big wave

Hahaha my thread title was kind of two faced. As far as massive surf goes, that really does like the easiest wave to surf. But let's be real... it is so, so much harder than it looks. We'd all probably fracking die.

I don't know man, having your feet strapped in takes out a huge amount of the difficulty

I've always wanted to try tow in surfing for that reason. I mean, places that jaws take some really incredible skill and balls. And paddle in Mavericks, holy shit. I just really wonder if being towed in to a wave like this, with a very mellow break and huge open shoulder is actually that difficult. I feel like it would just be like wakeboarding and then letting go, but still moving forward. Even if these guys ate it, most of the time it looks like they would just end up sitting in the water with the wave rolling by, not even getting their hair wet. I don't know. Seems too easy for what it is.

Saying you have surfed Mavericks demands pineapples regardless of size.

    sharks, rocks, urchins... nastiness.

I thought it needed a solid 10' to break. Are you sure you were actually AT maverick's and not just somewhere close in half moon bay?

Nope it was breaking fine. And yes, considering I basically live in half moon bay I know where mavericks is. The only other break nearby would be Princeton Jetty which is usually tiny.
