Pretty much everywhere you would want to skim in NJ in the summer is going to be packed with things that get in the way. i.e. what you mentioned above. There are few spots that don't get that way, Belmar is not one of them.

dont bother with belmar... it breaks way too far out and youre lucky to find something worth actually skimming there besides the fact that its basically brooklyn in jersey. For the most part, anywhere in NJ is packed 9-5 beach hours. I just wait til after 5... if its low tide I find a beach that works during low tide that fits my time schedule.

SSP is def better than Belmar. Check out random areas around there... although Ive only skimmed there once, I hear many people go down there to skim. Also, if youve got a truck, drive along Island Beach State Park... theres bound to be something breaking.

Yea but when you go to Island Beach State park don't go to there surfing beach because last time I went there it had the smallest shore break so you'll need to go down more or just walk the entire beach from the start and look for spots and remember there are alot of sandbars at SSP and IBSP

ssp gets fun, so do most places. its decently easy to find a spot where its uncorwded and you have plenty room to skim. ssp lbi north etc etc etc
