I've heard this before. Most people have told me they were let down by it. I never saw the big deal anyway... I get that the eyes follow you around but I don't see what distinguishes that painting so much.

Been trying to find a pic that actually shows it, apparently you'd still need a magnifying glass.

The right eye is thought to contain the letters L and V, while symbols in the left are still under debate. "It is very difficult to make them out clearly but they appear to be the letters CE, or it could be the letter B", Vinceti adds, "In the arch of the bridge in the background the number 72 can be seen or it could be an L and the number two."
