Well I've been doing alot of work with the Marines Stationed here. Been going on a lot of airlift patrols in a Marine CH-53 Sea Stallion, providing Gunnery Support from the Air. The Marines are part of the Heavy Marine Helicopter Squadron 769. We've been doing alot of work in the south. The South is the Old West. Lots of small arms fire here and there. Our Mission has been to win the hearts and minds of the people, esspecially the Tribes of Afgahnistan, which have known war for decades. When we were coming back with a 'public relations tour' Marine Staff Sgt. John Ellis took this one of me manning the gun. The Afgahn's below needed help because their truck over heated. They were fleeing an area where the taliban had moved in.
Any way I've been in a pretty safe way, havent taken any direct fire. However we could see many tracer rounds Last sunday while out on patrol.
I'm a Senior Airmen with the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing. I'm a Helo Crew Chief. My camera is being shipped by my dad (cause i forgot it) so Hopefully I'll be able to post some more. But I've been busy as hell here so that my take a while.
