Skrillex released a new track with Damian Marley. The Facebook comments are all pretty much "wow, only skrillex could combine reggae and dubstep!"
"Reggae and dubstep together? What will skrillex think of next?"
*nuclearfacepalm*

hahahahahhaha
I was listening to Flux Pavilion's tracks on soundcloud and I got to some that were like 3 years old and they're under his real name, an it's just singer-songwriter type soft guitar music, totally not what I was expecting. I glanced down at my phone just in time to see one of the comments, "wow I never suspected you was a guitar douche!"
They have to fracking hate some of their fans when they get big
From the Skrillex interviews I've read he won't flat out say it, but you can tell he resents a lot of them. He said when he first started DJing big underground parties, he was really into Aphex twin and Squarepusher and he'd play their stuff but nobody would dance. He was amazed at the complexity and depth of the tracks and couldn't believe people weren't digging it, so he learned how to use simplicity in his music and that's what made him go mainstream. He really doesn't like the attention and it seems like he almost wishes he went down a path more like his original inspirations, but in the end he really loves DJing and making people party and dance.
I gained a lot of respect for Skrillex after reading and watching some of his interviews, I remember the exact quotes you're talking about. When he was talking about "why aren't people digging this" I was like "I KNOW THAT FEEL BRO"
Oh yea, I gained a ton of respect for him after I read his Rolling Stone interview. He just DJs all the time. He'll play a show, then play the after party. He said he loves to make sure people are having a good time and that's all he wants to do.
I've also seen him rant on FB about everyone at his show just wanting the big drop and trying to tell them music is more than just the drop.
watch the moving bodies as they react to the sound
I saw Flux last year at the Norva with Doctor P, they both killed it. The crowd was younger but it wasn't an 18 and up. You'll have a good time either way
Edit: To ZBR
Still gettin used to this new setup
Also, this: Really different electronic track, cool use of vocals. Check it out
Sorry if this has been posted, been real spotty on this thread the past few months, but I'm loving this Zeds Dead & Omar LinX mixtape "Victor". I'm a big ran of the hiphop-dubstep combo and Omar LinX is definitely near the top as far as rappers in that genre. Perfect chill music with some good ass flow. I think there's 7 songs total.
Here's the download link for any interested: http://www.mediafire.com/?e86352muibj12jj

Another reason why Skream is my favorite producer right now, this is track is huge....After listening to that shit Swedish House mafia song^ This is the disco/house I'm into..
I'm not sure if I posted this recently or not, but I meant to. I just fracking LOVE this track, so sparse and dark. That second drop is like a scalpel to the stomach.
the stereo panning / sudden volume increase of the bass on that 2nd drop almost made me shit myself
yeah the attention to detail on that track is really what sets it apart; the lines are all simple but they're executed with such style
probs toasting but I'll go ahead:
this dutch-house style isn't the most popular in this thread I know, but the verse is just SO COOL on this track. forward to 1:15 if you don't like the housey intro. it's really rare that a full verse is put into a house song and it actually sounds good, actually avicci is the only other person that comes to mind who actually does it well.
Yes, I didn't even have to mouse over, I recognized the beads of dew on the spiderweb. Posted that on FB right after the first time I listened to that Essential Mix you linked for me. I didn't know what a VIP mix was at that time though, didn't realize the album version didn't have the vocals. The vocals kind of make the track for me.
Actually, I just listened to it again, and I much prefer the version from the essential mix, just the placement in the mix, and some of the other stuff he adds in, especially at the end... check it out, I'd embed but I don't know how to embed with a start time
this *should* jump to 11:50 or so, if not, skip there
the wobbly bass right around the 15:00 mark gets me every time

Yeah the vocals are so gewd. Vocals + underlying buttery smooth bass = pure sex
Damn that was sick doug, put me in a good mood instantly. And yeah Whit, That track is getting the most play from me on Skreamizm Vol.3
Im trying to find a song I heard on pandora today, but dont wanna skream spam
