Also, I've been seeing more and more rapping merging into the electronic scene. Lupe recently put out a mixtape doing just that. Most of his stuff feels pretty forces, but I see some pretty good potential here once someone can make it a little more seamless. Here's one of the songs that's grown on me a lot. hahah you guys took it too harshly. Genres don't really go away. People (& the quality artists) usually just grow out of it or beyond it. If any of you are still on this thread in 2013 pumping new dubstep, good for you (but it's likely by summer of 2012 you will not be listening to it anymore). I'm just saying I think dubstep is going to leave the masses as quickly as it came into them (i.e. brostep). If you we're inb4 cool. Hopefully you'll b outb4.

A similar example would be the resurgence of talkbox/vocoders by very very untalented artists that want to sing. T pain helped pioneer the new movement and you are starting to see people stray away from it more (smart artists) and the artists who truly can sing and rap, stick around.

wrong dude... everyone in this thread is very into electronic music. dubstep will continue to evolve and elements of it will continue to be brought into electro and some house. the brostep thing will go away, but I'd be willing to bet everyone in here will still be listening to dubstep, at least a little bit, as long as they keep listening to electronica

I prefer garage dubstep over anykind of house or electro anyday, So I can understand your both of your points. Around my area, the bropstep movement is mixing with the hau5bro movement and every faggot I know queefs over Skrillex and Swedish House Mafia.

If you haven't seen Dada Life live, do it...nuts live shows. This is their video for Happy Violence, filmed right here at the Wavehouse in San Diego. One day this summer I saw Mo Just tearing up the wave while Feed Me was throwing down on the stage 100 feet away. They have the big barrel on one side and big ass stage on the other for day parties in the summer and it looks like this every sunday:

I see a couple of people talking about UK Bass... Idk if you guys mean Garage, Bassline, or Speed Garage... Anyways I heard that Justin Bieber is coming out with a Dubstep album... Some will say that Dubstep is dead and it is now just a fad... Also, I didn't see the Grammys but Skrillex got nominated and stuff. I'm pretty surprised that Dubstep got mainstream that fast. My point is that what may seem like the death of a genre is now evolving to something BETTER. Yes, Brostep will be around for a while for the people that rage 24/7, but the true real original Dubstep is still alive. It's considered underground in a way, but it has more swagger and funk. Its ALL about the swagger.
