is his new album out yet? or on the way? i havent been keeping up with skrillex, he seems to put out so much music, plus i hear enough of it all over so i dont really have the desire to seek it out myself.

if his album is out ill give it a listen though. i miss the older, more electro skrillex though. i wish he'd do more stuff like he had on his my name is skrillex EP and before that.

I'm not sure if his albums out yet, i heard those songs over the weekend and thought i'd post em. Skrillex did change over the years but i think he is still producing some pretty good beats.

if youve heard one recent skrillex song, you have heard them all. They all have the same formula and I feel the majority of his songs lack actual flow

    Disagree.

I'm interested to hear Rusko's new album next year, he said he's walking away from brostep, and almost making it as an anti-brostep statement.

and, do the grammy's really mean that much? i don't even watch them much, but it just seems to be mainstream culture congratulating itself for taking advantage of their naive, gullible audience. It's nowhere near as bad as something like the VMAs, but still. It is weird to see Skrillex in there. It's also gross because there are so many better artists out there, but they're just not in the mainstream, so they won't get nominated. That's the main reason I just think the grammy's are mainly a big joke.

sorry, it isn't going anywhere. it will becomes more obscure again, but it has a large hardcore following that was around before skrillex, excision, etc.

and everyone knows the Grammys are complete bullshit. Winners are chosen for popularity or "intrigue" as the committee sees it, not for talent. That's how Amy Winehouse won a grammy. She probably should have just gone to rehab.

Dubstep has been around for decades. It will continue to be around. Just like how candy-house has faded, candy/hollywood dub will fade in popularity but the core fans will remain.

Rusko isn't far off from Skrillex. He's produces songs for britney spears for fracks sake. yea he has to make a living, but come on. him/skrillex and any big name producer have strayes so far from their roots that they have escapes the genre and audience that made them famous. when you can sell out a stadium, you've pretty much started playing to the lowest common denominator. not necessesarily a bad thing, but how groundbreaking can someone be when they are that popular. it sounds elitist but the real progression comes from beneath usually, not from on top. especially in the digital age.

Oh yea, totes agree with you Gnip. That's the main reason I'm excited to hear what Rusko does with his next album though, he talked it up a lot so it'll be interesting to see if it lives to that. Especially since a lot of people, including himself, put a lot of the blame on him for creating the brostep craze.

But, I can only dislike brostep to a certain degree. It's better than the other mainstream media music crazes we've seen. At least this one has brought EDM (to an extent) out as on of the more influential genres of music right now (at least in the US). It's permeated it's way through many of the other huge genres a swell (rap/hip hop, rock, etc.). It's cool to see that.

On the point of Rusko saying his new album will be anti brostep he also said that there would be lots of women singing on the songs and stuff like that. I guess he is thinking bros dont like that type of EDM but I think its what they like the most, atleast the bros I know.

I really hopes he goes for his older sound on this one though cause he used to be one of my favorite UK dubstep producers back when he hung with Skream and Benga a lot. Maybe the US has got in his head. IDK BROZ, we shall see. I also disagree with Thrills statement just cause Skrillex is a poo head doesnt mean he can ruin the fun for all of us.
