Exuse me for not being specific in the title. Indie Rock. I'm not the only person on the board who listens to this. The only reason it seems like its "What xenjoiii likes to listen to thread" is because of my rule I stated about people posting. If I knew people weren't going to post shittty music, IE the shit you post. I wouldn't have a problem. Carbon, LAX, Ryan Jones, CUSTOMKo are all on the same page and I'd have no problem with them posting freely. As I said about 5 times already, Im trying to prevent a clashing of genres.
Clearly you're the only one who has a problem with what I am trying to do. If everyone wanted to listen to ATTACK ATTACK! BROOO AND DANCE GAVIN DANCE BROOO no one would be coming in here, and they would be discussing the shitty music you post in the other thread.
Real Music can still be considered SHIT. Hence why 90% of synthcore/screamo/hardcore/metal bands get little recognition. They get slim to none airplay. They are a bunch of high school rejects who like to wear deep vnecks to show off their chest tattoos. They cant sing, so they scream. they suck at guitar so they play heavy rythms over and over.
and like I said 90%.
Some bands in that genre can be given the respect they deserve. IE august burns red, as i lay dying, all that remains.

This just in:
Different people like different music.
well the politics that influence this thread are national socialism.
I was going to drop it, but this is just too good. Ladies and Gentlemen, the twitter account of Kurt Travis. He saw the light.

"I will see you either in hell or communism."
this thread is slowly turning into fail.
ITT: Pretentious king of all things indie makes a strictly governed thread with music that no one wants to appreciate because OP is such a douche.
By the way your thread is derailed :/
so fracking indie

You know what this thread is missing?
fracking linoleum knives!
Team Wookie
Live every week...like it's shark week.
Singing and screaming are equally difficult? First of all, I doubt that completely. Secondly, Open heart surgery and throwing a ping pong ball into a solo cup after it bounces off 15 different walls are probably similar in difficulty, one is a much more valuable and pleasing talent.
Moral of the story, the VAST majority of screaming sounds like someone having muddbutt into a microphone, sure, it may be difficult but so is shooting peas out of your ass a dartboard.
Make your own god damn thread about what ever shitcore band youre into this week and I can promise I wont ever go into it and and can say with almost full certainty that most everyone else in here wouldnt either.
And mystical, for the love of god, shut the frack up. At least Derik is trying to explain himself, make your own points or get the frack off the bandwagon.
Don't bro me if you don't know me.
Back on subject, playing tonight for free, frack yea.
Don't bro me if you don't know me.
Many indie guitarists suck equally as bad as metal guitarists.
But they are better in the sense that they are playing creatively which is 100x more than what I can say about a run of the mill metal guitarist.
I agree, but god damn I love FSU so much more than UCF, just last week, Margot and So and Sos, Foals, Washed Out and Yeasayer and then tonight is Born Ruffians and Wednesday is Matt and Kim. This school is fracking awesome.
Don't bro me if you don't know me.
This, it's because 99.9% of that genre takes the "Xxfracking br00tal breakdownxX" as top priority instead of actually building up to something that you can "breakdown" from. Thats why bands like Children of Bodom, Lamb of God, and Trivium will always be held higher to me than say A Day to Remember(which I actually like, and listen to all the time, but their guitar playing and actual talent isn't really there).

All the bands you just referenced suck.
juss' sayin'.
lol this thread sucks. "zomg the bands u listen to suck, these are good...""zomg no those suck"
considering megadeth, along with anthrax, testament, metallica, exodus, and some others kind of built the whole speed/thrash metal scene...
Which, if you think about it, is almost identical to the crabcore shit now, the nu metal shit years ago, etc.
I am guilty of it, but in the end it's all music and that's all that should matter. Some people value creativity, some people enjoy things they have heard a million times before. idk.
Keep in mind, I admit all of the lyrics from CoB, Lamb of God, and Trivium all blow. But you have to admit that their musicians do have their own style and are extremely good at what they do.

sure they are proficient on their instruments, but a monkey can learn how to sweep pick. A human puts emotion, something log and trivium don't do...
Matt Heafy's solo in The gunshot to the head of trepidation definitely had emotion(first that came to mind). And I wasn't talking about sweep picking. I was talking about their perfect timing and precision as well as their choice of scales , versus the common metalcore band which just chugs open C5 chords on shitty distortion.

"I will see you either in hell or communism."
New music coming from Derik and Coxie.
Derik request is quite folky. Good Old War
Coxie requested Grizzly Bear, Tokyo Police Club, and Crystal Castles. Worthy suggestions, but since they have been widely discussed in previous threads. I am going to keep the videos off to save page space.
Songs suggested are below. If you haven't heard them before check them out.
Grizzly Bear - Two Weeks
Crystal Castles - Vanished
Tokyo Police Club - Nature of the Experiment

I still love Killswitch as well.

Was mad. Screaming may be difficult but being the best screamer in the world is way easier than being the best singer. And youre telling me I'm biased? 98% of the population doesnt like screaming (because it usually sounds like asshole) so youre the one thats biased here, biased to enjoying guttural animal sounds that the human voice was never really supposed to make. And the thing about my opinion is, its mine and i'll put whatever amount of bias or personal angst in it that I feel is appropriate, because its my opinion.
Edit - Shit, didnt see what you said on the third page, i'm done also.
Born Ruffians were fracking awesome beeteedubs. I skated all afternoon, drinking some brewskies, came home drank some more, smoked a lot went to the show. I was the perfect combination of buzzed and high for the show and its probably the most fun i've had at a club down under show. I walked in a minute into their first song and was glued to the stage until the end, danced my ass off.
Don't bro me if you don't know me.
Before the Drums, There was this band called ELKLAND
