America, we're #2??

Here's something to ponder or debate.

With our Nations' economy steadily declining, do you think it's possible in the very near future that America could slip to #2 (China obviously rising to 1) or even #3 economically?

While I think people place too much fear in this thought due to looming invasions or further structural drops, I think life could somewhat continue as "normal"....seemingly normal. But then perhaps could the state of the things invoke Americans to defect to other countries for fear of invasion or becoming more 3rd world? Granted, it would be pretty freaking hard to come on American soil, given our military power & the amount of arms per household.

I'm not going all Armageddon here and saying nukes are going to fly off and it's it's the end of the world. I personally don't see things ever getting that bad. But in the history of the world, no nation/country has ever remained #1 forever. At least not to my knowledge. I'm just concerned that perhaps the mentality of old (we're America, F@*&you, we will always win) may have overstayed it's welcome. In the 40-50's America was all muscle. Now I feel like we are Hulk Hogan and just a saggy bag of ass & steroids doing rent-a-center commercials, claiming we'll still kick your ass.

Look, I love my country, the men & women who fight for it and the freedom/rights I have. So please do not misconstrue my sentiments as Anti-American.

We are the only country that is able to turn a vast space of desert into billion dollar invested hotels & casinos. IMO, I think the term "ranks" only matter when we talk about military or technology. The only reason we became number one so fast is Europe and Asia killed/bombed each other during WWI and WWII so much that when the war ended America (still untouched by war on the homefront) was able to prosper economically and technologically.

This made me lol... yes there are plenty of states in the midwest that may fall in that underdeveloped category, but I gotta say this is a pretty arrogant comment considering Cali is the most broke state in the union at this time.

Drive from Miami to Maine and try to and tell me that the U.S. is underdeveloped. The majority of the population lives on either coast... and every state that touches water is basically a fantastic place to live, not to mention just as modern or moreso than everywhere else in the world. Yes, if your European buddies went to South Dakota their opinions would understandably be different, but much of America's beauty lies in its rural areas. Try and find me a place in Europe with landscapes like Montana.

I spend a couple months in Botswana as an exchange student. I saw people living off ants. That's third world.
