Fish shape boards? really?:P

hey i dont live in place where main stream skimboarding is happening so im a bit slow on the new things on the skim scene. but i have noticed that the 3 main boardmakers( we know who they are) all have a fish shape board in some way or another, so whats the benefits of these shapes, n the V shaped tail does it ad something to the board on a hole and what affect would a v shaped tail have on a regular shape skimboard?

yeah it ads great maneuverability when you're skimming on a hole

@mjetty, ur talking about the v shape tails or the fish shape.... so a fish shape on a regular shape board would be a good combo?

A good way to kind of illustrate, is to fill up your sink with water. Take a Spoon & a Fork. Turn the spoon on it's back and drag it around the water. It feels less resistant. Take a fork on its back and drag it across the water and it has some hold to it. Sounds tacky..but it's kinda how it works when water hugs around your board. Fish tail helps grab liners well. Has a lil more bite to it. On a fish, tail is normally thinner and towards the nose, gets thicker. So with that in mind, there's more planing surface and turning is a more looser. Hope this helps.

Another good thing to do is take your phone. Run it under hot water. See how the water runs off the side? That's the same thing a fish tail will do with a board. So basically it will allow you to do bigger airs.

they bananaslip so far out too. my bros and i once bananaslipped out to a whale and ramped over its brohole

dude?... sounds good, yea i geet boops ( the fist bump)by random ppl when i skim, but then they say is this good for surfing.... ttss.. ok but the fish boards good for big waves, like a pro shape?...
