    Default Longboarding and skimboarding.

How does riding a longboard (skateboard) compare to riding a skimboard? I'm thinking about getting a longboard and was wondering how it would compare to riding a skimboarding

any board sport will help skimboarding. i personally think shortboarding, like the kickflip aspect of skateboarding, helps skimboarding the best.
it's not the board, it's the rider

get a shortboard and find a bowl to skate
watch the moving bodies as they react to the sound

If there is something hipster about unironically defending the validity of discussing Justin Bieber, then I clearly do not know what "hipster" means anymore.

well sure. they both have to do with where you center your balance

if you can throw some hard FS powerslides, it equates pretty well with FS schwacks in skimboarding. Same goes for BS

Carving on longboards to me seems to give you better board control (when skimming)

Theyre really not that similar, at all. That being said, if you can become skilled at skimboarding, you can probably become good at longboarding and vice versa. Basic stuff like balance, body awareness and fluidity translate but its far from apples to apples.
Don't bro me if you don't know me.
