Default skim spots in malibu area? any input on escondido?

im going up to malibu to skim this weekend and i want to go to a good consistent spot with the least amount of rocks. And deer creek would be too far north so im looking for some place mainly in the malibu area. ive been to westward, i hated it, it was choppy not really good for skimming at all. so is there any other place? i was thinking about escondido but is it consistent? and are there a lot of rocks?

The other day I went to Big Dume, it's on the other side of the point south of Westward and it was super fun, it has some rocks but it was a really good wave

yeah i saw that spot, but my only worry is the rocks, im trying to make my skimboard last as long as it possibly can. But has anyone been to escondido? it looks really fun.

well i suggest sandstrip in the summer (so right now) but since you said deer creek is too far, then just go to esco. esco i think is the most consistent breaks around malibu. there is pretty much never any rocks and there is a always something to skim up and down the whole beach. some times there is a problem with seaweed, but you can just move farther up/down the beach. also its best on about a 3-4ft swell and 2.5-5ft tide.
