    Aloha Once Again,

Check in will start at 7am and the contest will begin at 8:00. Registration is now open at hawaiiskimboardleague.com where yearly members can sign up for $25. Those who have not paid the membership may sign up for the $35 one time entry fee. If a contestant plans on entering the remaining events there is also the $50 registration which includes both membership & contest T-shirts and makes the following contests $25 to enter.

There will be an after party at Da Rush flowrider which has donated an hour of free riding for HASL contestants after the event. We will also be raffling off a brand new Maui Skimmers skimboard to competitors only and you must be at Da Rush to win.

Mens Advanced point leader Kyle"Little Man"Olson will be hunting down a third win. Kyle recently took first in the Victoria Skimboards, Dangerous Shorebreak & Downing Hawaii Surf Shop, Yokohama Skim-O-rama. Can Little Man hold off other top place skimmers like last year's champ Clark "Sharkboy" Camp, internet skim video sensation David "Stermanburgstein" Sterman, Kauai killer Anthony "Ace" Conlon, fellow Maui Skimmer Keith "Party" Fowler and West Maui skim paddle in champ Sean McClenehan.

No pro division. Although the top 6 skimmer's mentioned above are totally worth pro status especially on the big waves we get out here.

This is what the waves will look like for the contest and what kind of skimming will be going on.

What he means is that there is no cash prize, hence no "pro" division. The Advanced division is the equivalent, skill-wise. In fact the kid Forrest Dein shown launching in the pics above isn't even in the Advanced division and he's a freak. Most of all it's just a lot of fun because so many Maui guys enter and so many people come watch and it's just a big party.

Click on standings at hawaiiskimboardleague.com to see the placings from the first 2 HASL contests this year. The points totals are there also to see who's in the lead in each division. Our Men's Advanced is a pro skill level and Kyle "little man" Olson (in the webbie below) has won the 1st place in both of the past contests.

Litlle Man is from Maui so he'll be going for his 3rd overall win at his home break. Can he do it?? Stay tuned to find!! Last year's HASL champ Clark "sharkboy" Camp who now lives on Oahu is originally from Maui and Big Beach is his home break also. Gonna be one good show brah!!!

The Maui Melee was a great success. The waves were a little small but the conditions were good with light winds and plenty of sun. The big event was the Men's Advanced division which is always really stacked. Kyle "Little Man" Olson won his 3rd contest in a row. He's a monster. He never skimmed a warm up. Just showed for his heats and ruled it to another 1st place win.
