    Default Photoshop Watermark

How do you put a watermark on a photo in Photoshop?

What exactly are you trying to do? You can drop the opacity down on an image really low and it will make it semi-transparent (the more you drop it, the more transparent). What are you trying to use as a watermark?

make the image you want as your watermark on a clear background, save it as a watermark file and then apply it as a layer to your pictures.

what I do is type what I want (copyright symbol 2006 Zapbulletrider), with black text, then on the layers window pull the Fill down to about 30%. If you do what Dzan said above, you would just apply the layer and pull the Fill down to about 30% to get that near-invisible look.
