Damn that is shitty. I had an iPod possibly stolen a few days ago and I was raging. Still haven't found it, but the kid I thought took it didn't so I let off a bit. 3k would drive me insane and make me hate humanity as a whole.
i live in sacramento

isnt there that certain time frame to buy a mac? like every year during a certain season they come out with all their new stuff making the older line cheaper....might help you save a few bucks.
and chicago is pretty bad with crime but damn it feels good to be a gansgta
meatball sub from subway on honey oat bread, pepperjack cheese, toasted, all vegetable (not too many cucumbers and onions), chipotle southwest sauce, honey mustard, sweet onion, that vinaigrette stuff for vegetables they have and top it off with their spices <--- heaven on earth
Buying a MACBOOK is probably ok right now the model is still fairly new. WAIT to buy a MACBOOK PRO as they will be updated within the month. Once the updates come out get either the old model cheap (open box old model can give you a hefty discount for a good product.) OR just get the new upgraded model.
Wait till August and you'll get a free iPod Touch with it.
I'm so adjective, I verb nouns!

get Gskill , reviews seem to work best with Mac, as well as the 4GB chip in my iMac is Gskill
I have determined my 17' is a bitch to bring on work related travel. So I am getting something a little more compact. I considered a Mac for five seconds and came to my senses.

They're updated and online at the Apple store right now.
MBP 15", now i5, with i7 processor options. 330M graphics (with dynamic performance switching) and longer life battery (estimated at 8-9 hours).
17" is only i5 (for now?) on the Apple store (the Engadget was slightly confusing). Same relative battery life increase and 330M.
The 13" model stays with the C2D with a slight performance bump, but gets the improved battery life (10 hours) and gets an update to a 320M GPU.
Nice news for the 15" display is that it's now available in a 1680 x 1050 option vs. the standard 1440 x 900.
Yeah, my next machine will be a high powered, but compact chassis, like the XPS Studio 13, or along those lines. 99% of the time I'm doing "real" work I'm on my 24" monitor anyway. The other times, I'd like something super portable with really strong battery life (like 7-8+ hours).
My netbook has changed my life. I have a 15in craptop at home and I never thought the size and weight would be an issue but taking this thing out and powering it on is just embarrassing now - with its loud fans and random noises that make it seem like i'm smuggling rodents in here. My 11.6in netbook is sick, the size and weight enable me to pull it out on the buses and trains without any problem and the thing doesnt make a sound. The only drawback is the slow processing speed (1.33GHz) which I dont have a problem with for reading articles and doing homework but i cant watch FSMTV on there if my life depended on it.
