what if you are a local, the only local, and are extremely lonely and in need of some skimming friends. then, and only then, can you post pics/vid?

i don't think anyone ever complained when those kids from the bahamas posted their vids...because they were rolling two deep. and they seemed to be the entire skim crew from their area.
so in a case like that, no, i doubt anyone would care.

This is pretty lame along with the negative rep. i think if people are uploading stuff on to youtube the day of those conditions, they are allowing anyone to find it. I'm doing wrong because I'm sharing it with people when they could have found it as easily as I have?
i'm not condoning the negative rep...but it's similar to sharing links to copyrighted skim material. just because you can find it on youtube doesn't mean you make a thread about it on skimonline sharing it with everyone.

Yeah vimeo has passwords and youtube has friendshare. And then there is always not putting it on the internet. I know if I upload a video regardless of what it is, it's because I want people to enjoy it and the more the merrier.
It's like saying "hey you can't make it easy for these people to enjoy vids or find out conditions. I mean then tell surfline to take their spot reports off" and the wedge is not disclosed, I fully understand if it was a low-key spot but it was japan and wedge..
Last I checked youtube and skimonline aren't the same site. Youtube doesn't have that rule, Surfline doesn't have that rule but Skimonline does. Aaron has no say what goes on at youtube but he does here, why is that so hard to understand? Nobody is stopping you from watching it, just redistributing it
No, that's exactly what the rule is saying. It's pretty simple really
yes and there are ways to protect videos from being uploaded to skimonline as well. You're free to upload or watch any video you want to Youtube as long as it doesn't violate that site's rules, same thing applies here. Available to the world doesn't mean that content is automatically allowed on every other site whether it conflicts with the rules or not.

i fully see where this rule is coming from. if its on youtube and its easy to find, let people search it out themselves if they want. dont post it on here if its not your break and blow that place up. this is skimboardings number one resource pretty much.
if you didnt make the video i dont see why its such a big deal to go along with it?
watch the moving bodies as they react to the sound
lame rule
