Seriously, if you guys have enjoyed LOTR series and want something more in depth read the eye of the world by Robert Jordan, it's the first book in one of the most epic series ever.

I guess what I am trying to say is that there are a lot better ways to spend your reading time. Check Ursula K LeGuinn's Lathe of Heaven, Jack London's The Sea Wolf, Leon Ulriss' Trinity and On the Road by Jack Kerouac. Robert Heinlein is one of my all time favorite authors; The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, The Door Into Summer, Starship Troopers. Anything by Kurt Vonnegut, Hunter Thompson, Charles Bukowski and Tim O'Brien will more than likely enrich your life.

kurt vonnegut really drew me in with slaugherhouse 5. i read that book faster than any other book ive been into. havent got around to any others though. recommendations?
1Q84 is what i'm reading now and I like it a lot.
Also i posted awhile go that i couldn't remember the name of a book, it was Hyperion.
Okay what I should of said is those were my pleasure reads, and I did read alot of Jack London growing up, I also read, alot of military history/strategy/biography, just didn't think you guys would be into it.
My skimboard is even has its name ,The Argo on it!
Reviving the lost art of manliness
all of vonnegut's books were incredible. Breakfast of Champions was the first one I read of his (i think I've read all of them) Cat's Cradle and The Sirens of Titan were books that really stick out in my memory.

decided to read:
- Sun Tzu's Art of War from beginning to end once. So far so good, it feels like The Prince for adults instead of high school - Not so much revolutionary as it is a lot of good/thoughtful ideas in one place that offer insight into human nature under stress and such.
- On Food and Cooking by McGee. Book on the science of food.
- SAS survival handbook. A lot of random stuff and w/e, but for someone like me who isn't outdoors in the wilderness or w/e much, its interesting to me to see how people find ways to survive.
- Will be reading a book on the psychology of music once i replenish my books fund - this one is expensive and not in any libraries around here
SOMB suggestions:
- Would like to read a semi/controversial BUT informative/insightful book soon. Maybe start with Marx Communist Manifesto or Hitler's Mein Kampf - although I am already in disagreement with the ideology presented in each one so idk how much i will get out of them. doesn't help that i see both authors as intelligent but misguided people with a somewhat narrow understanding and view of the world, projecting an idealized fantasy world from their heads into their reality.
- Would also like to read a good classic American novel from the last century. ie something along the line of Gatsby or Steinbeck's work.
Has anyone ever read any of the Ian McKellan 007 novels? Skyfall renewed my interest in Bond and I know the books must be great, I've just never read any of them. If you have, reccomendations? Or just start from the beginning (Casino Royale)?
i've never read them or even actually heard much about them
i've been reading a lot of the free books on google play. the most recent:
Grimm Fairy Tales
Alice in Wonderland
Treasure Island
and currently Les Miserables
