Genesis and/or Phish fans

For those that don't know, Genesis got inducted into the Rock n' Roll hall of fame monday night. They asked Phish to play 2 of their songs and Trey (phish frontman) did the induction speech. The first song was "Watcher of the Skies" and they nailed it:

For those that may not know, a lot of early Phish is very similar to early Genesis, complex prog-rock compositions. Trey has cited early Genesis as one of his biggest influences many times. Watcher of the Skies isn't the song I would have picked for them to do but it was pretty good, if unfortunately a bit sparse on good guitar parts.



trey gave a good speech, you can see how big of a fan he is. edit: Just noticed the bong sounds in the background... thanks for perpetuating a stereotype, douchebag. I didn't see any other uploads of this vid though...

thrillhouse, I was kidding, you could have left it. I couldn't see it anyway. I had to use my phone as a modem at work to get to youtube to download those 2 vids, and I'm back on the LAN now and youtube's blocked.

I saw Trey at Rothbury '08 solo, first time I had seen anyone even involved in Phish. The dude blew my mind.
