its not going to fall straight down but the top looks unstable and may rotate down due to lack of horizontal stability.

you should X- out the back (truss style) and add a "/" on one side and a "\" on the other side, leaving only the front open.

then check it thoroughly for strength and stability. If there is any doubt in your mind that it will hold, keep reinforcing. Its not worth somebody getting hurt over.

jeff, add an angle brace. ANYWHERE. You have a big parallelogram ready to fall when those screws start bending. Put a triangle in there somewhere and you are at least better off. Imagine how it will collapse and add a beam that is in line with that direction. even a 2x2 would help although not be strong enough. You need and angle on each of the 4 sides for it to be stiff. That's generic mountain bike frame is like a diamond with a tube in the middle. Triangles are stiff.

Do it on 3 sides jeff. you dont even need to use a full X pattern either, just one corner to another corner. like peluso said, use a pattern like this " / ". Leave the big front part open and youll be able to walk underneath the bed.
