Is there something that makes one more prone to tendinitis? Any time you might expect yourself to get tendinitis, I get it. I get tennis elbow, I get bicep tendinitis, I get runners knee. It's really annoying.

Anyway to avoid it besides ibuprofen?

Problem with that is it weakens support muscles if you use them on a long term basis.

Yeah I know about that and that's why I don't want to get dependent on using braces. Guess Ill just keep dealing with it.

Make sure you stretch really good. Try a glucosamine chondroitin regimen.

Great lifts. I pulled 375 last week. Went for 385 and started to round so I let off at the knees. Crazy how much an extra 10 lbs is.

Finally back to some lifting after over month and half layoff from separated shoulder on new years eve. Have still been doing leg press and rehab work though

    squats
    285x5
    295x5
225x10 without locking out to standing position (just trying to hammer quads which are my weak point)

    Bench
135x10 shoulder is still only 50%

Does anyone else deadlift overhand exclusively? I've tried some big pulls alternating, but overhand feels more natural, and I've never had any problem holding onto the bar. When I hit my new years resolution of four plates, I plan on it being overhand.

unless you are using hook grip you aren't going to be able to keep that up for much longer.

People have deadlifted over 700 with a hook grip though. Basically you chalk your thumb and then grip your thumb instead of the bar with your first two fingers.

Raced today, came in 10th or so out of 144. The wind was absolutely insane, like 25+mph headwind for the last 9 miles. It was a total grind. I felt like dying afterwards.

I'm thinking about taking a supplement in addition to my protein shakes... I was thinking about trying "Afterglow". Anyone familiar with that product or any other supplement recommendations?

Well, it's about $70. I guess it's a mix of creatine and glutamine. I'm just looking for something to get me over this rut... I was told i can mix it into my protein.

You can mix any creatine into your protein and you can get a years supply for like 20 dollars haha. I would just try a creatine regiment. All of the products like the one you pictured are pretty much gimmicks. There is no magic product, its just mixtures of regular supplements at ridiculous prices. Like you said, its a mix of creatine and glutamine, not worth the price.

glutamine has no benefit over any other amino acid (protein) So if you eat meat and drink protein shakes you have more than enough.

Creatine just buy a cheap monohydrate that mixes well. If it is marked creapure that is ideal as it means it was made in the US with health/purity standards instead of who knows where.

    here 100 servings 15 dollars

Good to know. I guess I can always switch if it ever becomes a problem, but I can max as well as do heavy reps overhand and have never felt fatigue in my grip ever. At what weight does it become an issue for most people? No hook grip btw

just depends how big your hands are and how strong your grip is. I would consider anyone who can double overhand 500 to have a beastly grip. Normal people usually start having trouble in the 300s or 400s. you can always test it with rack pulls.

Also just because you aren't dropping the bar doesn't mean its not effecting your lift. If your body thinks it's going to slip you wont be able to pull as hard.

    shoulder is finally healing somewhat

    Deadlifted yesterday
405x1 for 10 sets with 1 minute rest between

hope to be smashing PRs again within a month or two

also standing overhead pressed 105x10 which is huge for considering my shoulder is still pretty messed up.

Squat 425 two days ago. 1 rep x5 ~30 second rests. Still stuck ~365 on deads, come to the conclusion its a grip technique issue.

Might go the easy rout and grab some straps while I try and solve the issue.
