I've seen straps being used for dumbell, chest work outs. I lol.
The guy has the worst form I have ever seen. I will laugh when he has to release those heavy weights in a hurry and pulls his arm out of his socket
Yeah pretty much the only thing they should be used for are:
heavy shrugs
pull ups
heavy pulldowns
heavy rows
Deadlifts
basically anything where your muscle could do more but your grip strength gives out first. I say HEAVY sets because you should try to do as many sets without wraps as you can so your grip strength improves.

There is some chode looking guy, maybe 5'5 210, at my gym that doesn't understand the concept of controlled release. he jerks the weight, then literally lets it go and slam down as hard as it can. low rows, for example. he just swings and pulls it all the way to his chest, then lets it go and the stack falls and clanks all over the damn place. same thing with pulldowns. on top of that, he grunts like a congested little girl too. makes me rage.
I cringed just reading the story. Thats what this guys does. Swings and jerks. "Yea you are using 100 more pounds than I am but you're muscles aren't doing any of the work. S'why you look like a vienna sausage and I look like Johnny Bravo"
lats are fried today, yesterday was gnarly. tonight, shoulders and abs. i despise doing abs.

shoulders=destroyed. bitched out on abs though.
my legs especially my quads are completely shot todayi did a circuit that made me want to die i haven't worked out legs in over 3 months before today seeing as to how i was in a cast for those 3 months heres what it consisted off
8x8 leg extension
8x8 leg curl
8x8 leg press
8x8 goblet squats
and i would've done 8x8 of seated calve raises but that motion highly risks me re-braking my foot so i'll pass for another 3 or four weeks till fully healed
edit: and it was extremely fast i got this done in a little over a half hour which is very fast for me

the supervisor of our workout room is frackin sick. he used to compete and he can bench 300 and dead lift 500. hes basically as wide as he is tall

just came back from intense shoulder and ab workout. shoulders are destroyed.. love the feeling after workin out chest and you run down the stairs in pain
question: I don't really do incline dumbells often but is it necessary when your doing it to tap the weights at the top? i didn't for 2 sets and some kid told me i was doing it wrong..?
i bring them close together but don't touch them but always kinda wondered also i see alot of people just going 90 degrees w/thier elbows and i go a lil lower anybody know whats best?

you don't have to "tap" the weights at the top lol, thats some of the dumbest shit i have ever heard. i bring them down to chest level, so that is past 90 degrees. 90 seems much to small of a rom for me.

this kid was like 14 and was telling me how i should do it. i kinda laughed but just needed to make sure. i dont understand why you would bring it up and then proceed to tap them over the head. i was getting a full effect but i guess the tap makes your bigger
