Pretty much. They showed it in the first episode, the playground, barracks, ect are still on the island, but it's underwater. I'm guessing flash sideways is life with the hydrogen bomb blowing up.

is this wrong, or does smokey inhabit any dead body that comes to the island. jack brings christian, christian comes alive and takes claire with him. thats why smokey's new body, locke, tells kate that he told claire the others had her baby. he told claire that when he was occupying christians body.

edit: oh and props to ol' smokey for keepin his pimp hand strong.

He's already stated he's taken many forms. We know he has been Christian and Alex (when he told Ben to do whatever Locke says)...then in this season he said he was now stuck as Locke.

amazing. although it kinda made the smoke monster guy, almost human-like. just like everyone else, he wants off the island. yea he's a big smoke monster and yea he kills people, but so did many of the new "jacobian" candidates. only thing i can think of throughout that whole episode though, is................

i thought the same thing for sure. Actually trying to place the beach... kinda seemed like yokes, though kauai was all over the place too I think...

anyway, that episode rocked. I am scared to see how badly they might mess up these last ones though.

Hopefully there is a sequel so I can be confused for years to come.

I still don't feel compassionate for smokey. To me it just looks like he's manipulating everyone so that he can get off the island and turn the entire world evil, kind of like a pandora's box theme. Now it makes sense when desmond said he was saving the world by pushing the buttons in the hatch

It seems to me that Ben Linus may have been manipulated by the smoke monster for quite a while. Remember how he used to "talk" to Jacob at the cabin. I think it was the MIB pretending to be Jacob. If I remember correctly, there was one episode when we saw Christian Shephard & Claire together in the cabin. Ever since Ben killed Jacob, He hasn't been a stone cold killer & He's sided with the "Good Guys". That was one of the best episodes since Season 2 ended, nice to have a few questions answered without getting 5 new questions dumped on us. Even tho I thought the Blackrock could have had a better reason for winding up in the jungle. I think it would have been better if the ship was sailing along & the island appeared in that "time" as the ship was sailing through the "area" & grounded it. It would be pretty wild to be sailing along on the open ocean one moment & come to a screaching halt in the jungle the next.

Ben already admitted he's never seen Jacob, he just lied and said he did cause he was embarrassed. Then smokey came along and convinced Ben that he's been taking orders from someone he's never seen and it got him mad so that's why he killed him

I dont think smokey has killed anyone touched by Jacob? I dont think he can... Maybe why he didnt kill Richard for failing...

I think you're right, the little kid (who is prob Jacob) told MIB that he wasn't allowed to kill Sawyer rught? Prob because He's a candidate. I think that Jack seems like He's too obvious of a choice & expect more of a twist to whomever winds up replacing Jacob. On another note, wasn't there an episode where some people went over the pylon barrier by leaning a log against the pylon? Why cant the smoke monster fly over it?

Oh wow...I can't believe I haven't joined in on the discussion lately. I'm completely obsessed with this show. Like Dale said, when this is over I don't think I'll ever enjoy another TV series. This is the best series ever on television. Some critics have said "20 years from now, we'll still be standing by the water cooler and reminiscing about this show"

It's on the North shore of Oahu. My friend is a Key Grip on the show. He knows how it ends and everything. I asked him for a few spoilers last year but I don't want to know anything this season. Ill knows LOST

im pretty psyched for this, but i'm done with theories. i'm just going to watch it and see what happens...we're finally down to the end and i feel like there's no point in jumping the gun to figure it out. i do however wish i wasn't so addicted so i could let it all end and then just watch every episode back to back.

between the comedy available on tv, the amazing dramas on cable and the long, twisting story arcs like Lost, i barely have time to watch movies.

i wish i could say the sopranos is an equally good show but that series finale just fracked everything up. lost has thoroughly surpassed sopranos in goodness

They mentioned Sopranos as being one of the best. I loved it too but it isn't nearly as suspenseful or mind boggling like LOST. So, not even close in my book

Same... I think the only other show i'm this passionate about was dead like me. but that got canceled after 2 seasons and i don't know anyone who has seen it
