So, in my opinion this is definitely the best coverage ive seen of the contest. No offense to fsm or square, but this 10 min HD vid was one of the best ive seen in a while. Jaime on the seal was fuggin hilarious, the angle of the coverage was by far the best ive seen, knowing 26th this guy def. had da best spot. The wipeouts were sick too, domke 540 shuv, and 360 out to the sider .

I dont really see what you're talking about. Which angle are you talking about? It looked like he was filming straight on most of the time. This video was ok.... the pace was really slow and I think the UST video was a more enjoyable to watch.

I dont really see that either. It's just longer... I dont think there's that many more waves, and a lot of them in this video I wouldn't think would be good waves in a video.

good video, but better than UST?? nooo, yeah i liked how it sowed more waves but thats just because matt and derek are more selective about using the best shots without it being repetitive. i saw a lot of junk clips which is cool sometime because you get more a feel of the contest but not better than ust in my opinion, they do a legit job

Idk i just think all the footage shot from up on the rocks was cool because it gives a sense of how close all the riders were to the rocks, plus on sum waves like BCS air drop, i thought it was a better angle than sum other vids. Im not dissin on the UST vids or anything, just thought that this one was really well done...

this video wasnt that good at all who ever made it is way to into the slow mo they are putting slow mo on clips of the dumbest things. its actually quite boring i would rather watch a 2 minute video of all good clips then a 10 minute video where half of the clips arent good. And why would u slow mo clips of people not making waves or falling thats just stupid. This video in no ways brings justice to skimboarding

i think this video was 10 x better than the UST video and Squares vid. Yeah its slower and the editing isn't professional but it gives you a better sense of what the contest conditions were actually like. ALOT of the UST videos portray the conditions to look so fun but really it could be shitty (just like SC skimbash).

This video and Tardo's video have to be the top 2 videos for coverage of the event. Not only did they focus on the best conditions and the tops pros, but they also give a sense of feeling like you were there at the contest, not just seeing the highlights. I also like the change in music because of alot of the pixi fairy gay boy music used in UST videos completely throws of my interest of watching them.

I also understand there is always criticism but to me it sound like ya'll are bunch of jealous morons who think that your shit dont stink.

it was ok and i appreciate the guy making a video, but you cant really compare it to UST videos.

-it was too long and i got bored (stopped at 6:22 to type this)
-no cool intro like UST vids
-music wasnt great (mgmt? cmon) UST always has fresh music
-Sanders- whats wrong with making the conditions look better than they actually are? i believe the UST videos are not only for skimmers, but to showcase professional skimboarding to the public (UST vids get a lot of views, there are a lot of comments from beginner skimboarders who didnt know about the professional circuit)

I am starting to get an understanding on this point of view as it has been rearing its ugly little head on the message boards more and more lately. The first time someone attacked me for no reason with this same attitude, they later tried to blame it on being in a lot of pain as well. I can understand that to an extent, but probably not to this extent. I think that excuse is what you initially used to voice something you were harboring long before you were in "pain".

It seems that skimboarders who don't know people in the media, tend to feel like they are getting too much praise and exposure, while the guy who goes out and skims everyday gets nothing, and I can completely understand that. But where you start to cross the line is when you start imagining these people as being "famous" or having some sort of "following" of "groupies". You're wrong. There is no scene within skimboarding where people listen to over-layered electronica with fruity vocals while staring at the huge poster of Derek Makekau they have hanging in their room, even though your imagination combined with Skimonline has led you to believe that. There are just as many bro's who listen to what you listen to and don't like over-edited movies and don't know or care who any of the people involved in skimboarding are. You don't have to like the things that seem trendy within the sport, and you don't have to hate them either, you can just let it be, I have to tell myself that all the time. The flip side of that is that when you post a video saying it's your favorite one, other people don't have to say your wrong. Opinions are opinions and lets face it, this is skimboarding....on youtube.

No one thinks they are famous, no one thinks they are better than you (or at least are justified in doing so), it just is what it is, take a deep breath.
