Default Hey guys, where are the skim spoooootss??

Hey whatsup everyone, I was looking for a skimboarding forum and I just found this one. For a little info, I JUST started skimboarding, I bought a Zap Lardge wedge. I want to eventually learn how to wave ride and all that good stuff.

So now the question, I work at jetBlue so I can fly to wherever they fly for free so every monday I fly somewhere, I picked up skimboarding cuz I can go to awesome spots and I needed a hobby for when I do fly. Can anyone tell me what aiports are close to good spots if you know of any, I live in NY so places like florida would be easy but I am willing to go to cali if there are good spots close to the airports over there.

Thanks alot for the replies guys.

Yea I have been checkin out the skim spots on skimonline, its my real only source. But all the spots I'm finding are nowhere near an aiport the jetBlue flys too . I may rent a car if the prices aren't that bad, if I do go it would only be for 1 day anyway.

if you jut started skimming, any beach will do for skimming as long as there is sand and water when you start getting good at waveriding you will need to find good beaches

What is your occupation for JetBlue?

edit: Zeus is right any beach will be great since you just stared maybe after a few months you should start looking at beaches with shore break and good waves

Yea I guess your right, I get ahead of myself alot, I wanna start waveriding before I even get good at sandskimming.

Do you fly into long beach? The wedge in newport isnt too far but idk about skimming that if youre just learning. If you fly into burbank or lax malibu isnt that far.

do you fly into john wayne in santa ana? you can take a 15 minute bus ride plus a short skate to the wedge. or call me and ill pick you up. i know jet blue flies to Puerto Rico, theres skim there right now, just check the swell first. same with costa rica i think.

thats when i first went to wedge. what could you lose from seeing different sides of the sport?

if you just started out, it doesnt really matter what waves you travel to, you cant ride them. so what better place to learn then by skimming cylinders while watching the best skimboarders do what they do best?

true, i get what your saying, but what im saying is, why go thru the hassle of renting a car or taking a bus ride to a spot because it has huge waves when your not gonna be able to take advantage of it. why not just hit up a beach right near the airport?
