Fall Skim at VA Beach?

coulda been. i was skimming for a little bit. clear carbon exile with green acid freaks and bombs and stars all over it.

hmm I probably missed you or something. I got there kinda late, around 4:16. The sun was already setting. But there was 3 guys over there. I didn't catch their names, I just tagged along with them. One had a Red Zap Pro, another one had this Blue Exile?? maybe Vicotia? I couldn't tell. And this other dude had this Black and Yellow Bottom board with Black Freak pads. Idk, just a hunch. But yeah we were skimming till maybe 5:30 and it got dark n shit so i called it a night. Plus the water was freazing n shit. It was flat but a little tooo flat. Just occasional waves coming through, but overall, it was just alright. I kinda wish I got there earlier when the sun was still high, would of been a little warmer. but check it, according to swell info, Tuesday (or I think Thursday) is predicetd to have Glossy conditions with chest-head high swells. So I'm assuming it's going to be pretty dope. I'm going to try and make it if I can, when i get outta class.

Hah Yeahh luff that was probably Brittany. Just wondering because she said she was going down there around that time and also said the skim sucked really bad.

And ELY89! i know who your talking about! ive seen those guys before hah this is kinda weird but i was skimming there last Saturday and they were there. Was the one in the Red zap pretty bad?

Honestly, I don't wasn't paying too much attention to em', but I did indeed see the dude with the Black & yellow with the freak pads. He was savaging every little swell coming through and made the best of it. haha I thought it was kinda neat. I really can't speak for em' cause I myself wouldn't say I was better or anything like that. It was just fun to see more skimmers out. Im usually allll the way down in the North End around 40th or 68th. Mainly because there's better parking and less crowded. But you can park in those areas right? Because I see the sign above it that says you have to pay but the summer is over and tourists are pretty much out. So I'm assuming it's alright to park in those spaces without any problem? Just curious cause last time I parked there was last spring and I got a ticket because I didn't pay the toll, yet there wasn't a toll next to it nor was there any sign saying I had to. So I try to avoid the area and just park my car else where and walk.

Yeahh those had to be the same guys because i liked the yellow guys style alot i think he is going to progress the fastest. And im pretty sure you can park in that area during the off season because Downtown in the off season is a total different place. I liked how they even allow skateboarding late at night there too. Yeah im not saying im better than them either and i talked to them for a bit so they were nice guys

Oh yeah, most definitely. I just like to see other skimmers out there. I'm usually the only one skimming while everyone else is surfing. haha ya kno? So it's cool to see other people get out. but there was this other guy I met about 2 months back. He had a Purple Apex board, name was Shawn. He was pretty dope. But I havent seen him since.

Hah Yeahh man i know exactly what you mean. Skimming is at least twice as fun with more people there. It gives you some fun competition and someone to talk to. Hmm Shawn... Purple Apex... pretty dope.... Shawn Kenny? aka S:kenny? Im pretty sure hes sticks to obx and the point but who knows

yea in the winter you really only see people skimming at the pier. summers another story.

but in the offseason you can park anywhere at the oceanfront for free (parking garages idk about). but all the lots are free and all the meters are taken down until springtime. what car do you drive ely? i saw someone pull up to go skim with a zap bag and a pit sticker on it as i was leaving.

gotta leave today to go back to school

. wont be back around until second week of december, but if everything goes with tradition, we'll have at least one day in late december or early january with 70+ degree temps.

You know what? I was driving down the strip and I saw this person walk by with this board and it was like light blue with x trax or pads or whatever? I just knew it was blue. That had to be you. but nah I drive a 07 silver Suzuki. I got a Andre the Giant sticker, SKImshop sticker, Boomhower Sticker, and Juventus sticker on the back of my bumper.

das me, it's Sean and I have a blue apex. I don't know where you guys are going that it's been any good, I went out on turkey day but didn't catch much, a lot of trough and backwash... but maybe i've just missed it, been in and out of town a lot for work.

that totally sucks about your board dude, i would have swam after that ... for payment haha. i'm having widrawal from skim though, i need some good waves! let me know if you see any

Yea you might've missed it cause I was right on 40th and it was pretty good. I got pictures of it in the previous thread page. It wouda been better if the sun had been out but its all good. Yea I was pretty pissed off. I tried swimming after it but it didn't feel right, the water was dam near taking me out and I was gonna risk drowning myself for my board. Ughh..But I still got my green zap, works just as fine. But I want my Square back =(

idk. I went today and it was alright. I had to get there around 4 casue I had to drive from portsmouth for class. Water was clean, everything glassed out. Im gonna try Thursday if possible. But I'm waiting for these semester to be done with, which is this coming week. I'm so ready to be done..

I'm up at TCC. I got classes at both Va Beach and Portsmouth campus. But since I got majority of my art classes out there, that's where I'm going to be for the next semester until Summer.

i would love to go but I got class in the morning till 3:00. And by that time, it takes an hour for me to get from portsmouth str8 to 264 to oceanfront. by that time, the suns already setting. I wanna be able to skim for a good 3-4 hours ..errrr..
