im headin to santa cruz tomorrow or sunday, and im cruising down with a crew of non skimmers, so they are going to want to post at a beach and hang out all day instead of rolling around looking for the best spot, i figured id just roll the dice and go straight to 26th, anyone know if its been working at all lately or if id be better of going to the boardwalk or somewhere else?

yeah last time i was there 2 or 3 weeks ago, which was also the last time i skimmed :'(, there were a lot of rocks, my board was still almost virgin on the base and that day alone gave it many scratches

last time i was there like 2 weeks ago it wasnt very steep and not working too great. In my opinion even steamers lane area (the dog beach) had better shorebreak as did 38th ave.

i went to 26th wednesday and it was breaking way to far out and the beach isnt steep enough yet. i caught a couple little waves but it wasnt that much fun. i drove by it today and it didnt look any steeper so your prolly better off at 38th

well the dilemma is that im notorious with my non-skimming friends for taking forever to find a spot because i want to drive around and check everything, and half the time we end up going back to the first place we went to, so i get bitched at a lot because after an hour of driving everyone just wants to go somewhere and chill there and drink beer, so im trying to figure out where my best bet for going to first would be, normally i wouldnt try to get info on a message board because i know the likelihood of getting and solid info is very small, so ill probably end up driving around anyway, but it was worth a shot

i do the same thing. just tell your friends to quit bitching. or you could drop them off while you check everything, cuz in the end you know your gonna come back to the first spot anyways
