Default The Pacific (WWII Mini-HBO-Band of Brotherish)

I am a HUGEEE fan of Band of Brothers. I rewatch it every summer and caught sight of this new project.

Ambrose, Spielberg and Hanks will have their hand in it.

How does the extra selection take place, Mike?

I know for most big Civil War movies and various other wars...a lot of the studios actually meet with historical societies and reenactor groups to build up the bulk of the extras.

Does it work the same for a lot of the WW2 stuff? Not sure if you know...JW.

white text btw. yea it works the same way. im in a few shows on the history channel, those new d-day documentaries that consist almost entirely of recreated battles. some of their reps contacted my unit (historical detachment at ft. campbell) and we just did a little shoot in north georgia. pretty fun.

dude I can't wait. I saw this 5 minute battle clip on HBO on demand, and it was as intense as anything you saw in Band of Brothers, probably moreso

Band of brothers was amazing. Its about time a light is being shined on the pacific side of the war. I bet 99.9% of this board knows nothing more than the japanese attacked pearl harbor and that the usa dropped some abombs

Well don't expect a lot of post WWII revison history in the story...such as Japan's reasons for war and justification.

Hanks has already stated it's going to piss off some historians...it's accurate but it's going to ignore a lot of things.

I also grew up on the history channel...when it actually was the history channel.

I have watched the trailer and little mini movies on this damn series way too many times. I wish Sunday would get here.

    Good stuff.

Yeah I was a little worried about it being too much character development after watching the first ten minutes but they did jump right into the action.
