    Question Victoria Wombat Repair Question

    So my buddy got a used 06 wombat, but now the bottom (plastic?) layer is starting to peel away from nose and little from the tail. I have some epoxy and simlar surfboard resin and some fiberglass laying around. But since the board isn't made from those materials can you repair it with them?
    If not, how would you go about sealing the bottom layer back to the foam? My buddy was gonna use PVC glue, but I told him to hold up on that and I'd ask on Skimonline.
    Any help is appreciated
    Thanks =]

    epoxy and fiberglass should work.

    I would say use any strong plastics/foam adhesive. I don't see how epoxy / resin / fiberglass will help the wombat materials. If it gets very tricky maybe ask vic what they would recommend for a quick fix. after putting the glue down, get some sort of clamp with flat pieces of wood shoved in there or something to help hold it while the glue all sets

    Dry the board out completely for a couple days. Right before making the repair, hit the repair areas with a blow dryer for a couple minutes to be safe.

    Get some contact cement from home depot/lowe's. The solvent-based kind works best, but stinks something horrible. apply a film of contact cement on each surface you want to stick together. Let the contact cement dry until it is smooth to the touch and is no longer sticky -- use toothpicks or something to keep the surfaces from touching each other while the cement dries. Once dry, stick the two surfaces together and apply pressure (stand on it) for 10 seconds. You should be good to go after this. Make sure you read all of the directions on the side of the can before you work.
