The 2nd Coming

Alrighty. So I know religious threads don't usually fair very well on SOMB. I hoping this will be different, but it probably won't. So here goes (just try to keep it clean & respectful guys).

Do you believe in the 2nd coming of Jesus (or even the 1st) & do you believe in the signs supposedly happening now (and to come) that allude to the 2nd coming (per Revelations)?

I have to preference, I am very neutral in this discussion. I was brought up in a religious home, but have since drifted to various opinions, nothing substantial. I just thought this would be an interesting topic.

Every generation since the dawn of Jesus has claimed it was at the end. Even Paul and Jesus predicted it would of came not that far after the death of Jesus.

Bart Ehrman mentions this in a NPR interview he did awhile back.

And no the signs don't add up. There have been far worse times in history. The fracking 1930's blows this shit out of the water.

It might happen but not any time soon, they've been predicting it forever and that 2012 thing was established by the same people who sacrificed other human beings to make the sun come up and for the crops to grow.

I'm not really sure about how I feel about the second coming of christ because I havent really come to terms with the first. But, although I think this doesnt really apply, history repeats itself.
