I have heard that you only have a few hours to skim up there. How long do you really have before the tide comes in?

if you are talking about the greater Vancouver area, in the summer our low tides can last all day long. Although like anywhere low tide constantly changes with the moon and all that so sometimes if the low was at night you may only have a few hours to skim in the mourning and then you may have a little tide to skim later that day. It basically works out that you get a week of so-so tides and then a week of great tides, but during the spring/summer you can pretty much skim everyday. The Canadian Open has about a 9 hour tide for both days.
