yea florida you can carry a loaded gun in your car without your CWP. It has to be "securely encased" and cannot be "readily accessible." Ive heard several interpretations of these phrases. Safest would be to have it in a holster and in your glove box or center console (and to help, dont have your insurance and registration in the same spot). But i have heard people that have spoken to LEOs that have said in a shoebox sitting in the passenger seat is fine...doesnt sound too secure or not readily accessible to me though.

Readily accessible is the exact notion behind separating ammo and the weapon.

    Most states have that.

Except in Florida you can legally have the gun loaded. You could have a full magazine in and as long as the gun is not readily accessible (safest would be snapped or zippered in a holster and placed in a glove box) you are fine.

Still out of reach if someone is trying to jack your car.

Is that not half the reasoning behind carrying a weapon in vehicles?

From all the gun shows and gun store nuts I experienced the best part of owning a gun is coming up with convoluted stories about how it will be used.

"This is my bathroom gun. I keep it in the medicine cabinet so when I'm in the bathroom and someone breaks in I'll have it handy. Also in tests it preformed best when hitting tile and ricocheting. It's the ideal bathroom gun."

Oh, I was just pointing out that you can have the gun loaded.

I agree, having the gun that secured kinda takes away from its quick use in a bad situation.

All my life I had lived in santa cruz, and there really isn't a place to shoot. So when I moved up to Oregon where we got a house in the country, we went nuts buying guns. Because we can just open our front door if we want and fire away. We have our own shooting range now, so when we get a new gun we can try it right away.

If you only have one gun, this would be it(12 gauge). Why? because it can shoot many different kinds of shells. Like bird shot, OO buckshot, and slugs (which is one large ass round) it's about 3/4" wide. I heard that OO and slugs can take down a large bear. Or you can shoot small birds with bird shot.....Notice! only shoot things you're going to eat or something that's going to eat you....... It didn't look anything like this when I first got it, I made a lot of changes.

maybe not 00, but a slug could kill a bear with a well aimed, close shot. i've killed deer with slugs a lot. that shotgun is sick jim. i like the extended mag. how many does it hold? 9+!?

Thanks Sam, I think it holds 8+1....not sure, it might hold 9+1 of the smaller shells though. Here are the things I changed, new pistol grip stock, heat shield on barrel, side saddle(holds 6 extra shells), Orange glow tip front sight, Led light and a sling. Here's a better pix of heat shield and light.

All you need now is a foam pit and crazy slip and slide.

The motocross rider could use a healthy dose of the rear brake.

about 2 years ago my dad managed to get his hands on a Mint Kar98 never fired leftover from WWII, but unfortunatly he plans to keep it never fired so its just sitting there, but as far as my own i only happen to have a mossberg 500 and a Marlin .22, was going to buy an AK for my 18th birthday since in new york you can purchase Rifles at 18 without a licensing but lost interest in it, my mossber hasnt been fired in years.

that heat shield is an absolute must with a gun like that jim. i see people all the time shooting 12 guage automatics with no heat shields and then grabbing the barrel after firing off 6 quick shots and burning the piss out of themselves. so funny.

cowboy, benelli shorty is the m4 right? my uncle has one. so sick.
