One the best guns I have and I have a shit load too. Mine is a 9mm though. Here what it looks like with my new stock, the one that comes with it looks like shit. It shoots straight and never jams too.

I don't know much about the carbines, but I do know to stay away from the hi point pistols. I'm glad to see Jim has good things to say about it, I've always wanted one too but was too afraid because of the bad hi point pistol reviews and stories.

Thanks Jim!! is that the stock from ATI?? my buddy has the 9mm pistol and absolutely loves it, im just trying to find something to bridge the gap between my .38 and 30-30 and the HP seems perfect considering the price point.

Any of the model IZ saiga AK's are a decent price usually around $350 at a gun show they're chambered in .223, 7.62, and 5.45, the cool thing about them is that the conversion kit to make them an "assault rifle" is only $150 dollars if you do it yourself, so for $500 bucks you can have yourself a great gun.

conversion is at least $200 from what ive seen. mine was around 225 for the parts shipped. + another 30 for CA compliance parts. i got very basic but very functional parts for mine.

ankle is right though, the conversion itself is pretty easy... even easier if you get the stock that doesn't require an actual conversion where you have to swap out the fcg (just don't forget about any applicable compliance laws)... except for the part where you have to install the spring for the bolt hold open (if you want to keep it, you can remove it with no other negative effects).

Yeah I didn't like the hi point pistols either they look and feel like junk, they are really heavy too. On the other hand.....I have never shot one, so who knows.
The thing about the 9mm is it's a pistol round which is cheap to shoot and with the rifle barrel, it makes the 9mm = to a 357 mag. that's what I heard anyway.
And yes it is a ATI stock, here's what they say about it.

Now to many folks the carbine to get is the 9mm 995 model. Reason being is that you can swap out the normally "classic" stock and opt for an after market stock from ATI and make your 995 look like the more expensive Beretta CX4 Storm carbine which sells for about $800 compared to $225 for the Hi-Point.
Now I liked my Hi Point in stock form, but with the new stock it feels and looks so much better.....now I love it.

With shipping it might be a little more pricey but $150 is a deal!

This is my friend's Beowulf .50. It's stupid sick. I want it.

I can get a parts list if anyone is interested. I know the receiver came from Alexander Arms.

I used to have a p17. I seriously wish I never bought and sold so many rifles. Biggest regrets now that I'm older.

I love it so far, I just got tired of the Saiga mags breaking!. The AK worked fine the feeder tab on the mags (which were already rare and expensive) would break way too easy.

I might get a scope mount on it.

We have a M4 and AK47, and I like the AK47 better. You can now buy both almost anywhere. The M4 shoots a lot small bullet than the M4 so it has a lot more stopping power. Also the M4 jams all the time and must be cleaned all the time, where the AK47 can be thrown in the sand, pulled out and it will shoot just fine. Need I say more? Yes, as a rule the AK47 cost less too.

If you had only one gun.......I would have a 12 gauge pump shot gun (which I do). Why? As a rule pumps don't jam and the noise they make when reloading them will scare the shit out of anyone. It's also hard to miss with a shot gun. Has awesome knock-down power, and a very low price too.

Ive never actually had any problems with semi auto!, it helps with trap and skeet shooting to for a better follow up shot IMO.

And has any ever had a mini before?, im trying to find a decent red dot to fit the ruger rings or might just get a scout mount for it.

So you would think... I however do have a friend who had never shot a gun before in his life. Someone else had a 12 gauge with him and some bird shot. He found out my buddy has never shot before and asks him if he wanted to try. So he did... At a Stop sign about 20 ft away with bird shot and some how managed to completely miss the sign... I'll still never know how me missed it...

My neighbor's favorite utility gun is his mini, he has a folding stock like the old m1 carbines, but he says he prefers the iron sights.
If I could only have one gun it would be a mini, or something in its family. A pump is great for home defense, but if it ever hit the fin I'd like a higher rate of fire and some more range.

The thing with a semi auto for trap is that it spits the hulls far as hell. If you reload your shells you can buy a clip for the receiver that catches the hulls. Now the problem is what if you shoot trap doubles or skeet? Picking Em up off the floor gets annoying, O/U is the way to go for skeet/trap doubles if you make your own reloads.

Understandable, the local wally world has sales on ammo all the time so its not to bad on the wallet, and I wish I could find a decent priced over under.
