i'll have to google that, gnip. glad you guys like it.

i'm curious...do any of you guys prepare art for screening? i used to know how to do it fairly easily and realized that some of my recent shit might not work so well.

my main issue is dealing with the opacity of an image, considering it's a solid ink color...can they burn a screen with varying levels of opacity? i thought you couldn't.

haha, good call. those are the shirts i buy. i dont like generic shirts with just the brand name plastered across the front. my favorite shirt is probably my RVCA one and all it has is the tiny VA logo stiched on, you can barely see it. its focused on the design instead of the brand.

id definitely wear that shirt though.

haha no worries. i wasn't sure if that would work or not. with stuff like shirts, what kind of file do they need to print/make screens?

@vb: try and understand masking too early on if you can. I had to learn it later on and it was a bit tricky.

depends on where you get them printed. most will accept either psd or ai files, and some accept tiff and others. i worked at a screenprinting place doing art like 7 years ago and had to deal with it all, including art from people who knew nothing about it, spending a day tracing terrible designs.

it's enough to make you quit.

I'll fiddle around more with photoshop over the weekend. School quizzes/tests have to be studied for on the week days, practice etc.

psdtuts.com is a good site for tutorials I'm assuming? I'm trying to use paths eventually to make the cartoon-look out of a picture of someone. Not sure exactly what its called.

ok cool. i figured they'd take ai but didn't know if they would do psd. that makes it easier than having to get special software to convert your halftones to vector halftones.

yeah, i figured out that halftone thing last year and just started going to town. it's sick.

another thing i never knew about (thanks to not taking any classes) was ctrl+clicking a layer or channel to get a perfect selection. completely rocked my world.

Yeah they are very powerful for cutting images out instead of using the pen tool or in conjunction with the pen tool... i forget why though. I'm so out of the loop with all this...
i keep getting ideas for things I want to try out.. but i never have time it's frustrating.

    way better.

i might try to have an item above and below "IRON" that are checked but the opacity is way down and/or they fade out so it looks like a list. does that make sense?
