I'm like Picaso in his Blue Period. I'm in my Helvetica period. I use it on so much of my work. I just can't get enough.

The main images were sourced from Bleeding Through's album The Truth. They were then cropped out put in with the textured background. I really only needed to make really minor adjustment (curves, lightness) to the images as they were already pretty much good to go.

Yup. Keep in mind had I been designing for a legitimate client I obviously wouldn't have used another bands imagery.

That's a nice piece rich, but I'm wondering if there is any function to the form? Why the word revolution? Since skimboarding is so new, what exactly needs changing? I don't mean this as a personal attack, but I think the whole "revolution" thing is a bit tired.

    thoughts?

Maybe play with the leading a bit. I think the S and M touching like that needs to be considered a bit. I like the lettering though. Typeface or hand drawn?

Cause it's a new concept. even my old boss found the idea and concept interesting and renewing
i wish i could tell more but it's all still in the works for now, and that piece is just a "work in progress, come back when this site is finished"- picture.

You don't have to be a "sick artist" although it does help. I'm not fantastic at drawing either but I can cheat my way around it with good reference material and a light box. A lot of it comes down to how much you're willing to put into it. If you practice anything enough you'll get good.

it's not that it's bad but i think the typo for the logo is kinda "dafont-ish" and by that i mean it's not a graet typeface

the logo of the hibiscus flower is just plain standard... that's my biggest turn-off on the entire design... feels like there's much more to achieve by some good brainstorming

The type for the logo is very "dafont-ish" because it came from dafont.

The only reason I went hibiscus is because everyone seemed trapped by the name and were using fish as a logo. I just didn't think the fish gave much to work with and decided on the hibiscus because it's very tropical feeling. Although the cliche of it is something that needs to be tackled.
