tried budweiser american ale last weekend, at first it tastes great like a dark/light mix. but the aftertaste seemed pretty bitter and kind of ruined it for me.

i also tried heineken light a few days ago, i like regular heineken a good bit but it's a bit sour to me but the light was great, much smoother than any american light. def gonna have to get it more often.

best thing on a hot day, i like most belgian whites but great white stands above all of them. Don't let them put lemon in it, total sacriledge.

Death and Taxes black beer from Moonlight brewing company, its thicker than a shot of espresso.

lagunitas kronik/censored. Its making me drool just thinking about it.

    BUMP from the past.

I just had a Boulevard Smokestack Series Saison.

Boulevard is brewed in Kansas City, Missouri... but they imported their brewmaster from the magical brewing world of Belgium. He created a beautiful limited release brew for their Smokestack series with the Saison. Floral, grassy notes dominate the nose, while sweet earthy notes with hints of lemon zest / sour wheat make their presence known on the palate. With only 30 IBU's of aged hops in this traditional farm-house ale, the bitterness is just slight enough to balance out the malt and malted wheat. Great Saison that can stand up to the world class Belgian born variates. If you see this, pick it up and give it a try. It would be great with a meal that would generally work with white wine (Chicken, Pasta Dishes, Fresh grilled fish, sushi, etc.)

Tonight, I've had two "oldies but goodies." Duvel. This amazing belgian strong pale ale is available in most of the US, and is often overlooked due to its incredible distribution and lack of "rarity." This beer really sets the bar as far as world class Belgian strong pale ales! If you see this, spend the $$$ for a 4 pack, let it get nice and cold, and pair it with a nice mild cheese or a white meat. This beer would work with sushi amazingly well.

Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale - we picked up (actually the woman did) a 12 of this on Thursday, er, I think it's actually all gone

Nothing particular new, but I've been on a big Stella kick for the last month - the Dooskie (i.e., WD) has had it for ~$12/12 which is pretty outstanding!

The Sunset Wheat is, obviously, a wheat beer. It has a cherry kind of flavor with something I can't quite put my finger on, maybe chocolate... it's hard to say... Very good and easy to drink.

After all of the Cerveza de Pacifico that I drank during the game, my senses are dull... hahaha

hey thirdcoast, where are you getting this good beer at? the closest thing to a microbrew i can find around here is shiner. H-E-B sucks ass for beer selection, I can't even find a case of Pabst around when I need immediate shitfaceness, gotta settle for busch in the camo cans. And wtf is the deal with Bud light and texas anyway? sorry, its not your fault but goddamnit I want good beer.

HEB should have great selection. Also, Ingleside isn't too far from Corpus. Go check out Liquid Town (4241 South Alameda, Corpus Christi, Texas, 78411). They also offer a mix 6 so you can explore a bit.

Check out the Texas micros while you are here: Saint Arnolds, Real Ale, Rahr... Liquid Town should have what you are looking for.

I've been getting my beer at the HEB Plus on Staples and Saratoga here in Corpus.
Never been to the one in Ingleside.

And I know what you mean about the Bud-light.

Drinking Landshark right now... Thought I'd give it a go.

Most of you have already tried it I'm sure, so no need to describe.

Its decent, but IMO, beer should not come in a clear bottle.
