I had that at a hop fest last spring and wasn't impressed at all. I get the impression that any hype over the brew is from people who haven't actually had it.

In other news, Pliny the Younger has been making the rounds in Philly. I've not had the opportunity to partake yet, especially since the one event had people in line 200 deep at 9:30 AM. But another bar not too far from me is doing a low-key event and pre-selling pours. I think I'm gonna give that one a go. That event will also see 120 Min. on tap.

Went to le bar last night for some brews.

Started the night with cigar city tables saison...Quite different from the other saisons I have had...this beer was mild, not very sour, more malty. Overall enjoyable. I could drink several of these on an 84 degree day like today.

Then stepped my game up and got a bomber of stone imperial Russian stout. Should have just waited to get it in store, as it was $18! But nonetheless, it was amazing. I couldn't stop drinking it.

Finished the night with a mad river steelhead dipa. I really enjoyed this one too. Overall a solid beer that I would buy in store if the price was right.

I recently picked up Cigar City/Bruery's newest collaboration "Dos Costas." Its a saison that is taken and aged on three different types of wood (cedar, lemon wood, and grapefruit wood). They all sound interesting, but for the price I was reluctant to purchase all three; thus, I took a gamble and went with the Grapefruit wood variant. Hopefully its good!

In other news Dan Cady mailed me three 750mls of Alpine's new batch of Chez Monieux (belgian style kriek - lambic aged in wine barrels with cherries and wild yeasts). I had one last night and boy was it tasty.

Bum im quite jelly. Obviously stone is all around me over here, but I spend too much time buying other breweries beer that when stones RIS hits the stores, that shit sells out too quick!! Then it becomes a chore to find.

    In other news,

I found a DFH signature goblet yesterday for 3.99. Bought that, and a bottle of Drie Fonteinen Oude Kriek. While conversing with the beer manager at the store I was in, he gave me a bottle of Green Flash Palate Wrecker on the house. Dude was no joke a cool mofracker!!

I also spied (empty) bottles on the wall at the bar. 1) RR Pliny the Elder 2) RR Supplication and 3) Three Floyds Zombie Dust. All great beers the bar owner decided to display.

Though, I found out I can get Pliny and Supplication online for $7 or so a bottle...shipping is a bitch though.

Anyone ever had Zombie Dust? I had never heard of it and supposedly its an amazing APA.

I went through 12 zombie dusts this year, and then decided to brew my own. Yes, it is a good APA. A GREAT APA.

Zombie Dust- Ill add it to the list of beers to try before I die.

Anthony- The bartender on Friday night tried to convince me to try the Dos Costa Oeste, however I was pretty set on the stone stout... The bar had the grapefruit variation, which sounds the most interesting out of grapefruit, lemon, and cedar. Let me know how it is and I may snatch one, as I had seen it in the bottle shop before but decided against it at the time for some other beers.

CCB Hunahpu's Imperial Stout 2012 release was last week. Going to run $20+ a bottle, but hopefully I can find one and maybe a friend to split it with.

Anthony was exempt from this contest because he is too familiar with my "cellar", thus I considered his response invalid.
