There is no "best" brand. All the high end boards (Vic, Exile, Zap, Slotstik, Lands End, Syndrome, Blitz, etc. etc.) are all really good boards. Once you get up to high end boards, it comes down to personal preference. Wha tshape do you like better, rocker, thickness, etc.

you should make a board that fits your sport a little better, skrobo. like a hybrid between an inland board and an ocean board.

Don't get a skimboard save your money to buy yourself a good pair of slacks or a red turtle neck shirt.

haha i ended up laughing until about 2/3 of the way through this thread, but I got to thinking... there has to be some stronger foam, that isn't too much heavier that they could make skimboards out of that would be unbreakable, what about the stuff they make wakeboards out of, i think Vic uses the same kind of stuff but weaker, but my point, why not make a board that is unbreakable, yet light (foamy), and rides well
it seems like there would be many by now

and don't get too excited, this is when I quit laughing

    One word: kook.

If there was this "magical foam" it would already be used. Skimboars don't even break that often if you take care of them and ride it correctly.

Nothing is unbreakable in heavy shorebreak. Until some new mystery material is discovered on some distant planet, the skim coompanies areworking the best suited material available.

I didn't think of that. Those ripples are intense. They could probably break a board made of steel clean in half.
