I don't care whether you believe me or not. I have better things to do then come on here and make a fool out of myself, esp when half of the kids that post in this thread are friends that I skim with. I'm going to post pictures when its good, it was knee to waist chop yesterday and the connections were all distorted because the wind chop. My friend eric has a couple of pictures on his phone that do little justice. I'm going back sometime tuesday afternoon. I'll take some videos.

This picture is off some fishing website. clearly at dead low tide. They did work at this spot all last summer and it was closed all of last summer. There is so much sand there now and the slope isane, as well as for how small it was yesterday the backwash was big. And to what you said about the whole 10 skimmers on long island knowing about it? Trying skimming demo with 5 people you can answer that yourself.

hey guys...new to the boards

was wondering if you guys could give me some advice.
Ive been riding a vic ultra for the past 4 years and its about time i upgrade and get an exile carbon

with that said i dont know if i should get an xs pro model or a s hybrid, 3/4 or 5/8...im 5'8 about 130
i usually ride at gilgo or robert moses, the biggest problem i have is reaching waves, not b/c i dont run fast but b/c I 1) tend to hop on my board, killing my momentum and 2) when i hit the white wash i slow down like i hit a brick wall

what do you guys think?

let me start out with saying i love this forum lol, and that jetty is the east side of shinnecock inlet ( by ponquuage) and alex weve skimmmed it and hit it with a little sider, ive been there multiple times some good some bad, im still waiting for perfect conditions to hit it, but it will work ive seen it before and have pictures, this spot has been one that i watch and will be epic. does anyone know how to get there, . ............................ i do its easy but dont go blabbing it around lets hit it good first

You stated your problem. Its your drop, work on that and you'll ne fine. I weigh 150 and ride an MS proshape 5/8. The board is super fast and makes very quick, responsive turns. Right now, id say fix your dropping problem before you get a high end board.

i found the jetty on google maps and it looked like the one in the pic so i typed in jones beach jetty on google images and then went to the second page and found a different pic that looked like the same jetty and when i pulled it up the website came up and there was a list of pictures and there it was.

hes a crafty scamp, this one...
skimmed today lol... it was windy.
buut gazongas was going off with some really neat liners that were nowhere near the weather channel's 6 foot forecast, but solid waist to below chest and crazy clean for what the wind was doing. it was cold as sin though and the walk back against the wind was ridiculous
