Yeah it's only 9 here. Beaches hold some good possibilities if the swell would get bigger. There's jetties to the left that would make a beast sider.

But ya I think the squish fish shape might just correct the only consistent "flaw" I can find in the square shape- that slippery tail. point's will give you a consistent leverage point, and it's not too extreme of a v in the middle, so the points probably don't drag too much(slowing you down) Oh yeah, and 220 for a carbon boards not too shabby of a deal either.

if you get a fish, dont get a square. nobody knows how they ride because there are only like 5 made. it is cheap but not cheap enough to act like nothing happened when it rides like doody compared to your vic. squares are great boards and all but that tail can make a world of a difference.

plus he should not even be thinking of buying a board anyways. compared to your square mike, ryans is brand new.

I'm only gettin it if the price is right. If it goes to high I'm gunma wait until after summer. The Vic hasn't been nearly as strong as I'd hoped from a carbon

every board is gonna get some pressure dings after a while. if you can get the square for 220 jump on it. but i personally think that you wont like it. the thing i do like about that board is its so thick once you get on the line you wont even have to pump, but it will be slow to get out to the line...

A.K.A just get a dood crooz d00d. lolseriously tho: points are a little pointy, but think of the design principle behind the skim fish. wide board, short length=squares design already. and if he hates it I'll buy the frack outta that mother come summer

It's official. Oahu skim is nonexistent. Sandbars destroy any possible waves and the rocks onshore destroy anything that touches them. Although it is awesome to see hot Asians riding shortboard fishes.

actually I have been to davis park area, but found mediocre to not good skim with 3 out of 5 rated slope. of course everywhere around here changes so fast that it dont matta what it looked like 3 or 4 years ago. in that vein, jetty4 has a pretty damn good setup for small-smallish easterly swell... today was mad fun with literally like 1 foot of swell in the water... hope it'll work as well with the waist-high swell coming in tomorrow. probs goins at like 12, 1 oclocko

most of fire island out this way by me is good, lotta jetties keep the sand from moving, no theres no siders havent found any

lol its ok I probly shouldn't have posted in such a volatile thread but my slotstik is so delicate compared to literally every other board I've ridden, it pisses me off when I hear someone say"they're some of the best made boards around" best boards I've ridden(actually literally every single other one out there) can take a light impact and not puncture. especially on the rail, pain in my ass. rides great tho, never will I complain about that almost ever.
to answer your other question, no I have never seen anything older than...vee eye see. I guess I've seen youtube sized clips but that's aboot it. why do you ask? i couldnt fig. that out

slotties use to be fragile, the one boob has lasted a while tho, they have become better constructed as ive seem all my floridian friends ride them, and a board will last as long as u want it to, just gotta know how to drop and ride it, take care of it, my first vic i got in like 03 maybe i can still use haha, ML cabon epoxy it was, it sits in my closet ..

as for the movies ..

it will open your eyes to early skimming, and youll see and respect certain skimmers more, back in the early 90's there was like 5 people skimmin in solag lol, buy the bomb i think its like 15$ on skimcity, it'll open your eyes, or magic carpet ride was crazy
