what about the weather , could that material keep its form in extreme heat or cold? I can see that material melting off in direct sunlight if it was 90+ outside. and i can see that material snap in cold weather , my guess it will contract so much that when you want to change the seating or even opening the door , it will just snap. either way its a cool idea

Hahaha, goddam, can Bangle be any more condescending?

"OK boys and girls, our car has a special name. It's called an A-CRO-NYM. Can you say that? I like the way you say that. Each special letter has a wonderful meaning. Would you like to hear about it?"

    i think that is epic..

prob one of the sickest advancements in cars ive seen in a long time,

and about crashes, of corse there will be a sub structure...

this would take cars to a hole nother level...

    im stoked on it...

style-wise bmw has fallen off since 2003. i used to think bmw>benz, but benz now makes a better looking vehicle. IMO

    example:
    this

    beats this

    and this

    shits on this

I totally understand where you are coming from, but I have always felt the people that buy Mercedes are just buying it because of the "oh snap that guys in a mercedes" but the BMW people know they are buying a good car and less focused on image.

the car i posted is from 1998, but yeah its not a sport model

But doesnt the 3 series compare against the C2xx series? and the 5 series against the C3xx series?

mercedes have always looked more feminine to me, its the headlights.

Nah, a huge number of people in the BMW community would agree with you - the guy in that video, Chris Bangle is BMW's Chief Designer and he has caught large amounts of grief for most of his designs (which started right about where you started disliking them).

He's the guy who introduced all the hard lines, who created the awkward/disjointed rear trunk/deck design (aka, "Bangle Butt").

    Well, frack this Bangle guy.

I was a huge fan of E30, E36, and E46 3-series BMW's. Now, when I drive the new BMW's I mumble to myself like an old grandpa "bahh! when i was kid these things had a stiff clutch, clean lines, and no goddamn electrical problems. grrrrr."
