    Or call it wake surfing.

Jaime Lovett shreds the gnar with that, as well as Beaker.

Yea it's fun stuff. I've never done it where you catch in the wake with no rope but I've done it like wakeboarding.

yeah, i've done it behind a jetski tons of times...you won't get a great wake out of it, but you can still to some hits and airs and stuff.

It's called wakskating. You can do it behind boats or wahtever you have. boats are the best to do it with. The same as a wakeboard but with no bindings. However I live in the middle of GA so Lake Lanier is the perfect spot for it.

haha, it was my first time ever,
it was also the first time i ever had wakeboarded and the dude in the boat was riding at about 40 mph
it was mad fun, next time i'm gonna try and stand more relaxed on the board, maybe just maybe if the board will not be going as fast as last time i might wanna try some tricks.

nah dude, wake-skates are specially designed boards.....

u can do kickflips and other tricks with them that would be really hard on a skimboard

    if ur on a skimboard...its wake-skimming

that looks sick, but is it really hard to lose the board? I am going to check it out soon though. Soon as I get a board that floats better than a wedge, or do you think that is sufficient?

Someone explain to me how you start off on a skimboard.

I've been wakeboarding many times and I keep the board half in the water and half out and just pop up when the boat gets going.

I don't see how you would be able to pop up like that on a skimboard unless you held it to your feet with one hand and held the rope with the other.

no the pressure of the water keeps it under your feet

just put the board just like you do with a wakeboard and it's pretty easy.

Yea, I wakeboard alot, and at 35 mph, everythings a little unstable, and the drag from the board makes you have to REALLLLy hold on. But I know what your saying. It does feel really fast.

Thats so awesome. I think it would b real hard to get up on the water without bindings. i need to try that with my dad's boat sometime.

Its not as hard as you would think. Its JUST like having bindings on, once the water starts pushing it holds the board to your feet solidly.

Ore you could just dock start, thats what I do.

Just out the board by the dock and walk/run on to it, and away you go.

    eh

i asked the dude how fast he was going afterwards, because he's like an ass and wants me to get killed if that is possible hahaha

no, but seriously, the water was flat as hell and his boat is friggin fast.

you don't have to believe me though.

i believe you. that's really effed up of him tho.. a fall at that speed could really get you hurt.
