We had a long stander and longest thane line/pendy contest afterwards for shiggles. Me and this kid Riley were in an epic battle of standers. He laid the first one down and it was 35 feet or so. I threw my first one and did around the same and then hopped off because I high sided. Long story short, we trade longest standers a few times and shit got crazy. Flatted 3 of my wheels and kept going for it. Surpassed the longest one a couple times but couldnt get the board to hook back up. I ended up losing by like 18" but I didnt even care because my longest one mustve been 50-60 feet.

After the stander contest kids started doing long pendys and it took like 20 minutes before anyone passed the standers we were doing. Feelsgoodman.jpg.

The start line is right after the grate, you can see the blue chalk line right in front of it. This is probably halfway through my slide because we were stopping a few feet before the next grate. You can see the thane lines in front of my board. Video to come soon.

I dont know about where to buy a complete but Jett boards are solid, I have a Radar topmount (Radar ->Jett) and I love the thing. Its heavy as balls but its bulletproof and rides great.

If you fall at 40, your tshirt is going to protect you the same amount whether its on your back or laying in the grass. Being 1,832*F outside and me not wanting a farmer's tan, I figured sacrificing the minuscule amount of protection was worth being (more) comfortable.

    Short Answer: Don't fall.

    you are a boss
and yeah i calculated how much it would be with buying the deck/trucks/and stuff separately and its only like $200 so i should be getting one soon.
side note: so yesterday me and my friend went down some sweet hills near the rich community near my house for like 2 and a half hours. on the last run i did the gnarliest coleman slide ive ever done so i wouldnt hit the curb at the end of the coldisac at the bottom of the hill and then i check my board a few minutes later and half of one of my wheels are gone. then when we were going down a series of other hills (ones with lots of cars, rocks and a small bike lane) to get back home i started picking up a bunch of speed then i got speed wobbles and ate shit. and my gloves, shoes, shirt, and body are fuuuuckked up. no broken bones but lots of road rash.

    in the words of Lundberg:

"I hated falling because it hurt so much, so I stopped doing it. This was a few months ago and it seems to be working out well."

It's an 8 (maybe 9) maple deck. 44 inches with a kicktail. I'll try and fin pictures of it but i know I posted it on here when I first got it Spring 09. I'll take more pics tomorrow but how about 20 for the deck?

No wheels I'm sorry :-/ I basically moved everything onto a different board. But that one has been sitting around forever with nothing on it/no attention. But you can find some nice wheels and trucks together for like 70 bucks online free shipping too. I'll help more tomorrow with pics and shit, no access to a computer right now. Plus drunk

Been sketching a lot of boards in my spare time. Comments/criticism?

Thee three are just some ideas I slammed onto paper real fast, not really to scale.

This one is to scale-ish and I took a decent amount more time on. Kindve a killswitch clone but shorter and no dropped deck.

This one is mercado ish, 26" wb would be super fun for FR

The tail really hung me up on this one, I would want a flat extension with a small raised 45* chunk of wood right on the end to act as a gas pedal but I cant for the life of me think of an attractive to shape to make with it. My Raptor has been so much more fun now that I can bust ollies and do manuals all day. With the short tail, kindve voodoo dollish.

These are mostly just me screwing around. I wanna install autocad on my comp and start using that, makes it so much easier to fine tune arcs and shapes. Not to mention makes the process so much faster.

it showed up a couple of days ago, the bearings it came with are garbage, after this post I'll be ordering some reds. the wheels are gravity 80a 66mm, a little on the soft side.. It came with 150 Randal II rucks with polyurethene bushings, they feel a little weird to me because my old board always had rubber bushings on them. Its going to take some time to get comfortable on this board. I really want to start learning how to slide and drift, so I think i might end up getting another one just for that purpose. Either way its nice to have a skateboard again, i haven't had one since I shipped out to the navy three years ago.

oh yeah, it turns out Sasebo, Japan is a downhill skateboarder's heaven, there are so many little winding roads and streets out here its ridiculous, I can't wait to start getting better so i can take advantage of it.

after a little research, i'm happy with the deck i've got, although a new one will eventually be ordered on a drunken online buying spree. Just ordered bones super reds ceramics and 65mm 86a orangutang wheels. Hopefully the new wheels will still have the funcionality to carve, but be a bit easier to throw into a slide. As for the bearings, I started waiting by the door the second I ordered them, ala scott pilgrim style.

Here are some pics from the SDDRL Skate Olympics, Slide jam.
It was raining in the morning and during the race but it cleared up for the other events.

Got some footy of a hill thats a 2 minute drive from my house (10 min board). Second time Ive had someone drive and 'clock' me, at about 33-34 mph, my brother said I never quite hit 35. But its fun as anything. Posting it soon hopefully.
