Seconded, sounds like some of the reason why a lot people think longboarding is gay. I've been doing my best to change that perception. Skated tail of the dragon in tennessee 2 weekends back. All the motorcyclists thought we were crazy awesome, got some gnar footage. Vicious griptape video to come soon.

Heres a little raw footage from a trip to NC I just took. The video starts seven and a half minutes down the run, wouldve started sooner but the follow car couldnt keep up. The zoom on the lens squashes things a bit but we're doing 35-50mph.

do you use a router to do those wells? I'm about to make two new boards, a topmount and a dancer.

i was not too impressed with surf rodz. If i had cash to get precision trucks, i'd get ronins. The kid I know who does maryhill has them and at one point, one of those special GMR boards, and i loved that setup.

I think i'm just gonna get some calibers instead of having my paris trucks, people seem to like those so i'll give it a shot.

    VA Beach People:

Does anyone know why skateboards are banned on the oceanfront? I'm going to write an essay about the perceived "dangers" of skateboarding and how they are based on the stereotypes an older generation is holding on to. I would like to use the essay as vehicle to argue against the ban on longboards at the oceanfront but I do not know the history of the ordinance. Any information would be useful. ZBR, I feel like you might be helpful with this.

Who the frack is churchill? Radar/Jett makes quality boards really cheap, same guy that owns abec 11 owns them. Earthwings are solid and reasonable. Basically, dont listen to chev.

I said what I meant. Ive never heard of them and ive heard of just about everyone, Quick tour of the site showed me a bunch of decks of unknown quality that were obvious knockoffs of known boards.

So as I said before, skip that garbage and go for a brand already known for selling a quality and reasonably priced product. If you buy name brand you can also sell your gear without taking a huge hit if you figure out longboarding isnt for you.

Heres the fun edit of our trip, the epic one should be posted on the vicious griptape youtube channel by the weekend. Also just got on as a team rider for the biggest longboarding shop in Florida pretty much, going to Portland/Cathalmet tomorrow. #getonmuhlevel

Heres a video I made of the event Skate the Lake, a 28 mile longboard trip around Lake Tahoe. There were like 120 people that did it. It was real fun. No tricks or anything just cruising and good scenery: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2usTTUwn9q8&feature=plcp

I got one of those Kryptonic Torpedo boards (The Penny knockoffs) for Christmas. Any good setup advice? In terms of trucks and wheels. The stock stuff sucks. I need new bearings and I'll probably keep the wheels but the truck kingpins are bound to snap eventually. Same thing happened on my first longboard with crappy stock trucks.
