Im pretty sure we've been through this before, the pros and cons are pretty much the same with the boards as anywhere not just there, the 3/4 will float you more so if youre not a fast runner it would probably be better, but youre sacrificing some cutting ability. 5/8 is great at manueverability. I hope that helped..

    From exile

By default our boards are made from 5/8" foam, with tapering in the nose and tail, resulting in a board with maximum manuverability and performance in good conditions.

At no extra charge we can substitute 3/4" which provides additional float at the cost of maneuverability. This can be particularly useful in areas where the waves are often not very powerful.

they make no significant difference. i just prefer 3/4 over 5/8 because it feels better when i drop it and ride it.

please refrain from making comments when you dont know what your talking about bro.

there is a huge difference between 3/4 and 5/8

people just need to do a little studying, instead of trying to get the quick answer all the time.

maybe i was trying to give a quick answer. i was wrong for stating something unclear. but what i meant was that there isnt a significant difference of float and manuverability between a 5/8 and a 3/4. Most riders just choose one over the other just on they like the "feel" of the board which usually cant be explained and not on whether they want more float or manuverability

you said the same thing as you did the first time pretty much.........the difference is huge as lone ranger said its not just feel .....have you ever skimmed a 5/8 then a 3/4 right after it you'll notice the difference unless your just flatland skimmin

He's right, there is a huge difference, youll notice if youve skimmed for a lil while longer than a few hours that a 3/4 board just doest compare to the turning of a 5/8 board, its that simple.

    a board is a board

there is no significant difference but you will notice a slight difference after a few rides between the maneuverability, as stated before

    but it's not THAT huge.

I will say that my 3/4" Exile is like night and day difference to my 5/8" Slotstick. Turning performance and wave reachability was significantly improved.

ya I love it, just need to sand down where you want pads. Also I hear that they have a lil more strength than the non textured.

I have both a 5/8th and a 3/4th...both Lrg exiles. The difference IS significant. Anyone who has ridden both for any period of time would be able to tell.

The 3/4th does help get you out further and will allow you to push through some mushy conditions where the 5/8th would bog down. The 5/8th does turn faster and is much quicker rial to rail.

Personally in S. Fl I skim a 3/4th......because for the most part we have less than ideal waves most of the time.....and then when it is firing it will still perform.

yeah go textured there is really no good reason imo to go for glossy.. and I like 3/4 better than 5/8 but thats just my preference.

i love my textured deck but no stickers or anything will stick, and you have to sand it down to get pads on. i have a 5/8 ml, im thinking about switching to a 3/4 m, idk though
