Do you mean sharpness? Cause having it at 1.8 kind of has the opposite effect of sharp. If you want the sharpest out of a lens, you're going to want to at like f/8 or 5.6 or so. You can read the MTF charts to figure that out if you want. But that doesn't mean you can crank it up to like 32 and have something super sharp, sharpness degrades as you go that far, even though DOF becomes wider.

I wish I had a 1.4 lens, the canon 50mm looks pretty nice. That and some delta 3200 would be amazing in the subways of NY!

I guess I just include pictures with ym posts. I wanted to try a TV of 1/8000 so I shot this, it's even beach themed to get us all pumped for summer. And on that note, I had a snow day today.

Ahhh ok, yea i think its just a little out of focus in the foreground. I'll try taking the pic again tomorrow and see if i can get something a little better.

That's a sick pic though with the sand. I'm going to have to try something like that

anyone ever print their pictures? i just printed a few b&w ones tonight, they came out great. I like seeing them printed out better than on the computer screen

qft ^ i get my film shots printed lol. but i also print my digital photos occasionally. do you use glossy or matte?

I used the "Premium High Gloss" paper from HP. I like how they turned out. i used the matte a couple times for some smaller prints and the contrast didnt 'pop' like on the gloss

One of the benefeits of working at gay cvs is that im a photo tech, so i usually just print out what i want for freefiddy, I have a few 8x10's of some things I've shot on my wall though.

My brother (and I guess I do too) have access to a darkroom in school and make some prints. I never really made any digital prints. Although I guess all of my color stuff needs to be done through inkjets since I don't know of any color darkrooms around me.

I usually prefer matte, I never really liked the gloss, maybe thats just on black and white though. Plus it's annoying under an enlarger, all shiny and whatnot. Actually, there's probably a big difference between glossy photo paper (light sensitive one), and glossy paper that goes in a printer.

you set up a tripod, take a pic of you somewhere in the room, then move but dont move the tripod just keep taking pics and then you can put them all together in photoshop
