Dont you be sorry for that watermark. It's a subtle yet top notch watermark.

has anyone gotten their camera professionally cleaned, or cleaned it themselves. I just wanted to know the usual cost or if it was hard to do.

alright i need some help from you guys, and i have pretty much no experience shooting pictures besides digitals. I just got my hands on an older decent camera (not a digital) and im planning on taking some skim/surf shots tomorrow, what shutter speed and speed film do you guys use? I have kodak 400 speed HD film and the shutter speed being at 1/1000s. Also what do you guys set the aperture size for such shots?

it cost $50 for my local camera store to clean the filter, but i got it back in a day. They used the green clean vacuum and wet/dry swabs.
to send it to be cleaned with the warranty thingy, i got it back in a week and a half, but i got it cleaned for free.
i bought the swabs, but i never used it. i got scared everytime.
have you tried the blower? it gets rid of most of the dust. if not, then it's up to you. just dont mess up your slr.

I did what some of you guys suggested and I put flashlights in the abandoned car at night. It was hard to get a decent photo because the shutter speed was so slow, but here's one of them. I apologize for the blurriness.

yellowsnow, try using some of the surrounds such as a v in a tree or even resting in on a nearby log etc. if worst comes to worst lock the camera tightly in between your arm and side. it should be able to give you a little more room to work with when compared to using it handheld. i like the idea for the photo though!

I was using a rock and my sweater to steady it. The camera would take about 30 seconds or more to take the photo so it was near impossible without a tripod. I'll just have to find a cheap one somewhere. Thanks for the advice though.

I took this picture with a waterproof disposable camera... then scanned the actual picture so it's not the best quality... infact it's no where close to your guys' pictures. Ha
