Heres one of my favorite pictures from a trip to Japan I took last week. All taken with a simple point-and-shoot 8.0MP Canon Digital camera...
I would like to upload many more but tinypic is slow and imageshack is garbage

^^^ The first two don't even look real! They look like some Xbox 360 video game renders.

Shooting portraits Friday then again during the month.
Should be fracking epic.

Hahaha, I've never heard shooting portraits be described as "fracking epic."

Hell yeah got my new Sigma 70-200 f2.8 EX HSM Macro II today via the mail... It's tack sharp even at 200m f2.8! Damn I was stoked when I saw the first result s from it.
Pics will follow!
Need some Skimweather to take some sick pics

Dutch? Hell Yeah!
I thought I'd throw in some oldies. The red on is a picture I took of my friend with corn syrup on him. Then a bunch of over editing, but someone bought it at an art show so I'm down. I don't even think it's that great.

I realize we're related and all, but the car photogs you've been shooting have been f**king amazing! Even the staging has been very cool.
Thanks, DT. Maybe one day I'll see your car in a parking lot and get a shot.

So the Cicada are going crazy up here. Saw one of the skins they out of on a chair, and just below it was the Cicada that just came out of it. It was really soft and smooth - I put it in some plants, grabbed the camera. I shot a couple of it and picked it up to get a good pic of it near the skin and it flew away (must have dried out enough).

Finally burned my Ritz gift card - picked up this Tamrac mini-backback. Kind of cool, has room for the body with a mounted lens (looks like up to about a 300mm or so, kind of T shaped area), plus room for another lens or two, charger, external tripod strap. Small, but roomy enough to carry a few pieces of equipment.
Also per some of the people in this thread I picked up some Quantaray UV filters for my 55 and 200 (they're an MC-1A) and they were doing a buy-two-get-one-free so I wound up with the two UV's and a Circular Polarizer (C-PL). It was like $40 for the 3 which seemed pretty decent (free anyway with the card).
I just got a few UV filters for my 55-200 and 18-55, I'm always hesitant about the Lens getting scratched by sand when I am shooting skim or surf. Picked up a polarizer as well, haven't got to use it yet though, so no feedback on that except for it was expensive.
I went to Ritz yesterday and bought an sb-400 and a polarizing filter; i'll probably try the filter today when I go to the beach.
Yeah, I'm going to walk over and hit up some photogs tomorrow with the P-filter, see how it works out (supposed to be nice and sunny).Originally Posted by vbskimva
I need to score a supplemental flash too - that direct camera integrated one is decent, plenty of power, but it'd be nice to be able to get some indirect flash and tone down the harshness/redeye/etc.
