I remember this thread popping up about shoes marketed towards skimboarders a while back, tracked it down and I was wondering if anyone has bought them. What's the quality like?

I am all about supporting skimming and skim products......but do we really need a skimboarder specific shoe? What, do we walk a certain way or something? Do they have a pocket for skim money?

no I'm not saying i'd support them just because they're supposed to be for skimmers (I believe my comment on that thread was something like, "how many surf forums did you go on and post 'shoes for surfers'?"), I just happen to like the design and was wondering if the shoe was legit at all.

Yeah its my friend tom's company and it wasn't the type that was just looking for a nitch. He is a skimboarder and he loves the sport. He is my friend and i am sponsored by him so i wont say much about the shoes themselves b/c i think it will be advertising.

well I'm asking, so I think you're allowed to give me an opinion. It'd be different if you posted a thread. How well do they hold up for skating, how comfortable are they, etc.

I dont skate so I can't answer that but over all they hold up really well. They are a bit more narrow then a regular skater shoe though so to me they have more style. The company also really does support skimboarding. It has sponsored events and am riders which is cool. Sandals are coming out too which I'm pumped on

i have a pair, and they're quite comfortable. i don't short-board skate, so I can't tell you how they hold up after months of ollie'ing, but they definitely are comfortable

I've been supporting tom and his shoe company but i havent actually tried them. im trying to get a deal for him at a local store but most of the shops around here arent "nice" people willing to give small companies a chance.
