    Default toe grooves in wax

i find myself waxing my board before every session... and still, about thirty minutes into it.... the wax is gone right where my foot goes. the shape of my toes removes the wax. like it is pushed aside. on the heel, not so much, but still some....

so the whole board is waxed properly and right where i place my foot, the wax is gone...

what is going on??? is it the warm water, my wax technique, skim technique, or what???

p.s; it also gets really sandy just a few minutes into it. like sand paper. the sand just sticks....

hrm.. wax at home to remedy the sand problem

are you putting base wax on? and are you using the correct temperature wax?

also one thing i do is i wet the board first to cool the wax.. cause if the wax is sitting in the sun for a while it will melt..

Sounds like your wax is too soft. Or you're just to hard on your wax. I don't think you're doing anything wrong.

sounds to me like you're using wax that's not appropriate(sp?) for your temperature...

ask your local surf/skim-shop for the right wax, and maybe use a basecoat?
    or just get pads(ftw!!!!!!)

oh, and keep the wax out of the sun (bottom up, wax down if you stop to take a drink, i think costa rica-asume you're from there- is pretty warm)

    Yea +1.

If you just walked to the beach, or had your board stuck in the sand for a while, go down to the water and dunk the board a few times to cool off the wax before you jump on the board again.

Like everyone else suggested, the wax may be the wrong type as well. Maybe there's supposed to be a base coat for it, or its cold water wax. I use Ms.Palmers, or Sticky Bumps wax, and like the one with the base coats the best, and I usually dont have that much melting going on with my wax.

i use mrs palmers for warm water....
and i do dunk the board befor riding. the melting is not the issue.... i am not really aware of this base coat stuff.... i guess i should get some harder wax and rub it on, then put my mrs palmers on top??...

and i do wax at home... none the less, the sand will still stick to the board every time.

oh, and i do have pads. i am talking about the area on the sides of the arch bar. its not a hudge deal.

Get a super warm wax, and a base coat and you should scratch the problem away. Good luck!

layering your wax works and just lay on the wax. i've skimmed costa rica so i know how hot it can get there and i found that just layering on the wax solved the problem. or just add some of these to the side of your board.
