Saw that - the Mustang did really well (and I guess the G Coupe is not the second coming...).

Did you see Nissan bumped the GT-R price up **again**?

I can't blame them for wanting to take some of the markup (since they know the price tolerance point). $81K base, $85K "lux/sport/premium". That's $90K out the door - still an excellent value? Yes, but the value proposition is getting a little thin.

    yeah i saw that.

They also released a 2010 ecu reflash to fix the LC problems. Now it launches at like 3500 rpm and you dont have to turn off VDC to use it. The R35 guys are raving about it because it is resulting in faster 1/4 mile and 0-60 times.

Yeah, and it doesn't void warranty coverage on the tranny which is pretty awesome. Too bad there's been so much controversy around the GT-R. The R35 could have been much more historic, but with two price increases, funky launch systems not covered by warranty, questionable timing practices, etc.

I still think it's a killer ride, but it's like it needed one more year of pre-production to be 100% perfect.

Really, that 370 made it off the line pretty quick. Genesis seems a bit disappointing.

yeah it got waxed by the other two. 3.8 liter should bring more to the table than that.

Got the tile downstairs and the carpet on the stairs cleaned - gave the guy $20 and he ran the industrial cleaner over the mats and my carpet in the S2K. Looks fantastic, smells even better! Woot!

The new Camaro is amazingly good looking...but it just weighs too damn much. The V6 model has the same HP as the Mustang GT (which is very much a selling point) but it's like a second slower on the quarter, ugh.

I gotta start saving more money, come June the seXterra is paid off and it's Miata shopping time. Does that mean DT and I will be like roadster broskis?

I really want an NC Miata (2006+), but will probably have to go NB...oh well. The NC just seems really fun, 170hp (same as the Xterra), but 2400 lbs vs 3600., yeah.

    Volks GT-7's. Gunmetal. Comments?

Two-piece design so it makes it easier to refinish the centers/barrels if it's ever needed. Reasonably light (though not super light like a monoblock forged).

Waiting on the pics - I found them on a crazy widebody (in gold), but it's hard to get an idea from that (the S2K is sort of lost in the aftermarket ).

    18x7.5 +50, 18x8.5 +54 (I think that's it - Volks makes an S2K specific fitment). Run a 225/255 setup.

Found a killer deal on a set. Kind of like them for something a little different.

OK, I said that and like 2 seconds later I finally found them on a stock (or close) S2K.

These were actually pulled apart and the center sections painted GPW to match the car, but you can get an idea of the style and fitment!

I understand why he color matched, but IMO, the gun metal looks better. they look like they fit nicely. Interesting to see what it would look like on the blue. If you get them, would you paint 'em?

I wouldve painted the bolts that holds the pieces together GPW too, if it was me.

I'm with LAX on this one, it would look much better like that.

As for DT's S2k I'd definitely keep them the way he got them.

Oh yeah, I pilfered that picture My car is Silverstone so I'd definitely leave them gunmetal (which will be a slight contrast, but not as radical as like black).

FYI, about painting the fasteners - when you went to install them, the centers would get chewed up, and I guess you could go back and touch them up but that would be a huge PITA. I had some direct experience with this when the f**ktards that repolished the M5's on my Supra used some 1/2 assed fasteners that weren't rust proof and tried to paint them (the centers rusted out...)

Even with powder coating and being gentle it will frack them up?

Yeah, powdercoating might work, probably need to keep the threads clean. I'm not sure how gentle you can be and still maintain the lb/ft of force to get them to spec [?]

I wound up using this 800K PSI ARP fasteners on the M5's which was pretty cool and better than OEM.

I'll try a hack-tacular chop on my ride with those wheels. I'm kind of digging on them and for the price, it's like 1/2 a new set *plus* it has some Toyo Proxes (~60% but at my usage, would last till the end of the year ).
